Hi Johnny -
Have you tried an elliptical machine. It's like running on air. You get the workout of running, but save your knees.

My daughter(guess her name....lol) swears by them. I've been looking at some for several months now, but just can't seem to decide on one. She told me..."just don't buy a cheap one or I'll be sorry". I've tried a few, and watched others use them, but the mechanics of them scare me. My hips are just about the only parts of my body, that don't give me any trouble, and the elliptical seems to put a lot of stress on them..........and "hips don't lie".....lol.....I've always loved my treadmills. I blast some music on my stereo, and 60 or 70 minutes are gone in no time. I have two mp3 players(I alternate them) I take when I'm outside.......the music really makes it enjoyable for me. I walk pretty fast, only a few little old ladies pass me up during my walk....lmao.....but seriously, walking just doesn't give me the cardio I desire. Now as you were saying, exercise, especially anarobic excercise, can burn more stored carbs, rather than muscle protein, and you also build more muscle......which means you need more calories during the day(and night), even if you just sleep all day.......yeah baby, we can eat more......I know you know your stuff, when it comes to training and diet.....I hope you post some more tips here for us lay people........you amaze me, girl...... :hi5:

Babs.. Your kitties seem to be on some type of wild exercise regimen themselves.. Hoy cow they are dancing fast these days.. Are they listen to some power metal or something to keep them moving that fast or are they being enhanced with steroids???  LOL

Hi Johnny

If you are seriously checking out an elliptical for the quality and money you can't beat the "Sole". https://www.soletreadmills.com/details.php?name=E95&product_type=ellipticals
http://www.bestellipticalreviews.com/Sole_Elliptical/

Diet tip of the day by Babs  LMAO

Watch your sodium intake not just fat and calories: especially in frozen diet dinners from the super market.

It can be deceiving because a lot of people don't think about sodium if their food doesn't taste salty. They also don't realize that sodium may also cause you to store more weight around the mid section.

Always read labels and find out the sodium content. Foods that contain more than 200 grams are considered "high sodium". Most people should not consume more than 2300 grams in a day.  :D

I know,  It's tough enough having to watch the women in tights, they should pay us !

(add to that gas prices, and risks of injury from riptides in the whirlpool), not to mention they are behind in technology !  No bigscreen TV's with movies, no healthfoods like Mcdonalds concessions either,  my local Y just has a Subway, but no milkshakes, or frylater stuff,  none of the major food groups such as Hershey's, Lays, Mexican, Pizza etc,  I can't figure out why they call these places "Health Clubs" !  You can die of boredom, or even have a heart attack and get crippled tripping over one of those heavy moving ramps or bicycles, even get crushed by those heavy weights while lying down on those benches to rest after having to bend over to tie your sneaks !

Never understood the point in paying money to get aches and pains and athletes feet.  Regardless of how many times per year I went, Watching people workout did nothing for me !  Is it supposed to grow on you or something ? Pretty boring !

Oh yeah, and one other thing.  I can't understand all these women with fears of bugs and spiders not considering that Bull Sharks can live in Fresh water, and people have lost limbs in jacuzzi's in waist level water !!  If you can't see below the surface HOW can you know what creatures are in those bodies of water, with the bubbles and frothy-breakers in those indoor ponds you won't notice a sharks fins because they attack from beneath, or an alligator that sticks it's snout thru one of those water jets and latches on to one of your hooters, these things can happen instantly, BAAM !  No warning what-so-ever !
