I recieved an email from here, the kind you get when someone clicks the email link on your profile... it says it's from a karaokescene member, all that blah blah.

But there's nothing there. Just a quote from a thread.  :?:  :?:  :?:

And yeah, I could ask the person who sent it, but I don't know them..... and I'm pretty certain it must have been a system error. (and I don't need to look the fool..... anymore)

Anyone ever get any freaky emails that don't make sense like that?
(from HERE I mean... not those "other" kind of freaky emails... that Kappy sends to all of us)

It's just enough of a pester bother to bug the hell out of me this morning;)

I don't ever get any emails from here. There is only one other place that I do get email from, but nothing strange like that.  

Well, strange things like that drive me NUTS.

I get emails from here, but they always say who they're from, and there's the usual "please report if this is spam" mumbo jumbo.... and then there's the email content.  This one is just the content of a post here. And, a post nothing to do with ME at ALL...

I know you can "tell a friend" about threads here, there's an email link at the top and bottom of threads.... but no, you have to KNOW the persons email to do that.  

People, just stick to PM's...... much less confusing;)

And Earnie........ You don't have your email LISTED here apparently, there's no button. I was gonna be a smarty pants and email you from here, but I can't.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I should turn mine off, cause I don't really care to get "emails" from here. (sorry if anyone's reading this who's sent me one)  LOL  Most of my buddies HAVE my email anyhow, the ones from here are kinda strange to begin with.

But some people don't hang out in the forums, and don't use the PM feature, they just click your "email" from the SS side. Hate to be rude and turn it off.

Blue - I checked out the newbie and he only posted once. I don't think it is anything, but an error. There is nothing in our posts that is questionable. We were all being nice.

I just got curious about how/why I got the email. Kinda like getting a blank one...... leaves ya thinking......WTF??

Mistake I guess, but like they say, curiosity killed the cat;)

Which one of us ?   I was never told about those UNLESS you are referring to those same weird ones he always sent to me as well.  I finally blocked the freak, got sick of his strange requests.

It could be a mistake,  someone might've looked you up, and thought they were responding to a post you made in your PM box instead of posting in the thread, or somebody might've been questioning something you stated.. Was it related to that BJ post by chance ???    HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE

Another thing to do is check the posting history of the individual who posted to you.  Get an idea of the type of person they are.  Strange, might just mean that the mistake doesn't contextually make sense because the intent was to post in a thread and not to your PM (assuming this was a new person)

This happens quite frequently to me as well.  I'll be checking an individuals profile, and accidently post a message to myself.

The thing is, TRY to send me a thread from here.... you have to KNOW my email to do that. Unless of course you just copy and paste it in after clicking my "email" link.

Point is.... WHY would someone do that? It was a thread I had barely posted in, and the content emailed to me has nothing to do with me.
