After getting the SoundTech, I got new mics and longer speaker cables.  The SoundTech doesn't have speaker pole holes.  I'm using wood to make the speakers point upward.

You can drill your own speaker pole holes & add the pole mount for stands.

A couple of places had this one as a closeout for $219.

Luuvy,
Please post pics of your setup once you get it.

I was really on a budget when I got my frugal pa system so I didn't want to pay $500 for the pa system.  Of course $300 is better than $500.

Again, that system is very limited as to what it can do.  No real effects, very lacking in the eq sections & low power.
Even for a budget, i'd still save up the extra $80, many more features & expandability factor.

Lonman,

When you said this, "For the extra $30, the Phonics would be a much better buy, better effects & eq'ing capabilities, and a little better expandability."
I wasn't sure if you were talking about the SoundTech or the Fender squier.
When you said the Phonics would be a better buy I didn't know you were talking about the cheaper Phonic system vs the $300 one.
