Our family has had the three deaths in the last few weeks one niece only 50...My family is getting into the habit of saying luvya man.... Now friends and karaoke customers.. I had no less than 6 singers last night hugging and saying luvya.. Ive always been a hard (@$%!)... But once you get in the habit of saying the most important 3 words in the world you are forming spiritual bonds with family and friends Next time you are hosting on the mic say Hey I Love You Guys... And all the immaterial bs and crap is gone!!!!

True Ollie. Too many put energy into areas that really don't matter given the broader scope. It takes slaps in the fact (of reality) for many to realize WHY others have been saying "Don't sweat the small stuff" for a LONG time -BASICALLY, What is it that's really important to us ? (Problem is, in our culture it's NOT EASY for a guy to feel comfortable saying those three worlds, at least those of us that grew up in a time where "The John Wayne" complex crap inundated males with gendre-based stereotypical behaviour), in fact it's down right friggin hard to say those three words LMAO. Even saying terms such as "pretty" and "cute", etc... Tough tough tough.. While males were allowed to hug in europe, there was a term for guys that did that in the US in the 60's..... Of course if they were old, we called them grandfathers LMAO. Guys that are brought up told they must appear stoic on the exterior have a tough time saying a word like Lo_e... I'd imagine that never having kids can make recognising that not all love need to be of the type that makes a person feel vulnerable too. Of course this becomes MY own problem. I agree with you Ollie. My father never said that to me until he was 80, and that's because my mom kept yelling at him LOL . I told my mom, leave him alone, nothing wrong with him not saying it LOL
In my case I never was a "tough" person. I was always emotionally driven. I suppose this is why I struggled on the exterior that much harder to "conform".
BUT, you are correct here Ollie. As people age and mellow, I see how they become less ego driven.
OK, I'll break down...
I love you Kappy :doctor:

Kappy the majority of young people in this world is tired of the extreme HATE BS Oh you have to be anti-war oh you need to be green.. They have it to point now if you even think about sex you are a PREDATOR and you need to be branded for life...
All these extremist views are borne out of hate and judgement and greed..Normal people are tired of it....They are uniting in an eternal bond which will prevail again. Hate is short lived Love is eternal.. And if you think your hate will outlast love then you have no clue about life. Hate spurs a momentary lack of judgement and negative energy Love spurs a bond and energy which lasts forever...

my mother was raised not to show emotion or affection....so was i....it's only been in the last few years the we tell each other 'i love you' and me & my siblings are now all very affectionate....
i remember when i went to visit a friend of mine, she and her brother actually hugged and said 'i love you'...i thot 'are you kidding me?'
i broke the cycle with my sons....
i also used to have the mindset of 'i told you once that i loved you, i'll let you know if i change my mind'
my sweetie and i tell each other 'i love you' constantly....i'll never get tired of saying it or hearing it....i think the more you can show your love, the deeper that love grows....
kappy you have no idea how your display of love for yourself has touched my heart....i wish you could see the tears of laughter....errrrrrrrr.....joy running down my face

It's certainly a strong destructive emotion for all. Especially the individual harboring such an emotion.

Well, After I read that mush that I said earlier, I had to run directly to the bathroom, and ended up washing my hands for four hours.. I still feel so dirty, and wimpy... I can't believe I broke down and had such a "Hallmark moment". Especially in front of an audience...blech !

I've been through a death of a close family member...... I lost a brother when he was 25 and I was 18. The first thing that crosses your mind is "did they know? should I have said it more often? did they REALLY know?"....... Losing someone you care very much about makes you want to take the time to make every day the best it can be with those still around you.
But I was raised in a very tight knit family. My husband still (after being married 21 years) thinks it's odd how we all hug and kiss goodbye, and even when I hang up the phone with my mom or dad, the ending is "Okay, talk to ya later, I love you"...... that's just how we were raised.
On the other hand, excepting the times it's family.... sometimes (and don't berate me for saying so).... sometimes, it's just 3 little words. And they fail to mean anything, if it's not shown as well as spoken. I guess I'm more of an "actions speak louder than words" type of thinker. People often misuse the saying, and think it fixes all- but it doesn't.
But I love ya all too (ha- most of you anyhow) You're all too often my home away from home when I need a place to crash:) ..... as Sharon said, keep spreading the love Ollie. Lord knows the world needs it:)
