.

Cletus is ALWAYS best spelt with a "T" ma'am !   one MUST give a proud name all the respectin its deserving of, yisiree,   Maw don't just hand this name out to anyone if'n you know what I mean. Fact bein, only one other brother I know of has this same name !!   It's allways quikist to recollect how to say Cletus if yez breaks the name down into the 3 seperated sillybals it containts

C-   as in Ca   (being the first or monosillabic precurs'n)

Let-    as it's spellin says, the "a" is a silent partner doncha know,  it's missin from
the cleat, so one says  "leet"   (inbetween monosillabic second curs'n)

us-     As yud say it in normal speak, such as "isss",  not to be confused with
the we'z form of the personal plural pronounce. (final curs'n, no relation)

Put it all together, n it sounds jes like this

        CA-LEET-US

If'n yez practice nuf, you can get mighty gud and saying it too !!!

Here's an example of what I'm sez'n !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The most purdiest name in the world !

         CA-LEET-US

         Yez just must keep says'n

         CA-LEET-IS

          'n suddenly that name
           wil never sound the same
           to yez !

          CA-LEET-US
          CA-LEET-US
          CA-LEET-US
          CA-LEET-US
            'n suddenly yez finds
it's nicer than pork rinds, its me !

          CA-LEET-US
Sez it LOUD n there's music playin !
          Sez it soft n hear Sassy-Mae bray'in !

OK, time to slop the hogs

(psst, it's me Kappy,  Isn't Maria a cha cha ?   Leonard Bernstein really had a gorgeous song when he composed this score.  West Side Story is in interesting and tough time signatures.  Duple meter, but not sure what the time sig is offhand..  I think this song technically is a Cha Cha ???  )   Albeit slow,  or would this be a slow Bossa ?   Damn...  I don't even know this   :(   Is it 4/4 ????  The song was composed a few years after Cha Cha became popular, mid-50's.

One of you vocalists that is better versed in Show Tunes would likely recall this.  I always loved this song, but the time signatures in WSS were pretty wild.

I was wrong to threadjack this,  I apologise bluekaraoke.

I recall a couple of "Don't Worry" songs from the early 60's vaguely.  Actually the only song that comes to mind though is "Don't Worry Baby" by the Beachboys.  I wonder if I ever heard this other song.  I need to do a search.  Was Marty Robbins better known as a singer/songwriter or stockcar racer btw ??   This goes back a few years, and I'm not familiar with this genre of music.

Oh no I have been treadjacked !!!!1  aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh !!!!
I was actually enjoying the redneckage as I must admit I be one !!!!
Marty Robbins was a ,let's say eclectic country artist. Sang a lot of songs about the old west etc...
El Paso was one of his biggest hits.
Also check out others by him they are a lot of fun to sing.
Big Iron
White Sports coat and a Pink Carnation
You gave me a mountain
He was kinda country's version of Steve McQuenn when it came to racing.

I'm lucky enough to be gifted with a wide ranged voice, unfortunately, parts of my range go so high that other people speculate whether I am missing certain crucial parts of the male anatomy.

My advice is to practice in your car all the time.  Any time you are in your car, put in a cd and sing along.  Slowly ramp your way up higher and higher over weeks and months, and you'll eventually get there.  Singing along with a cd while doing housework, mowing the lawn, etc. works decently as well.
