I had a busy weekend. Friday night I had a private gig for a 16 year old girl's birthday. I had 7 girls, all 16, and a diva of the birthday girl. She was a good singer, her mother is a voice coach from what I understand, but she just hogged the mic and wouldn't let go. She sang most of the songs and even sang made up songs based on some Disney songs. It was a fun time for all though. It worked out because other girls weren't go eager to sing as much as she was. The girls had a blast and they want to do it again.
Saturday morning, I drove to San Francisco to do a charity event. My friend's little girl attends a elementary school and they were doing a fund raiser, like a fair. They had all kinds of events, like cake walk, basketball throw, baked good sale, silent auction etc. I took my full gear and set it up on stage because it may have rained.
Here are some pictures of my set up, with my partner at the gear.
It was so much fun watch girls singing, most of them off key and off timing. They are so adorable. I gave away beads as a rewards and they came up to sing just to get beads. It was a great incentive for doing the cake walk also. I must have given away a couple of hundred beads. I need to restock up on them because I am almost out.
I also tried to give away glow sticks but since it was a day time, they were not as popular.
I got a lot of compliments and may have gotten a few gigs from the deal so it all worked out. I was exhausted by Sunday.

Well, I did'nt get to go play karaoke this weekend.
We had a big Open House sale at my place of business and were open on Sunday.
We are generally closed on Sunday and can boogie oogie oogie on Saturday.
The good news is there will be a lot more boats on the water in Oklahoma due to our sales diligence.
Now I just need to rest up for this weekend upcoming.

Eben:: ......... I had a karaoke party for my daughter and her friends, for my daughters 12th birthday party (she's now almost 17... yikes) But it was a ton of fun. They wanted to dress up to suit the songs, so they kept changing outfits. I got it all on video, it's priceless to my daughter.
How cool, and doubly cool that you did the one for charity. Not enough people take the time to do things like that... and a bit of your time can sure make a difference to someone else.
Mark:: ...... Awww, c'mere... I was kidding ya:)
Blue:: ..... Either I'm a retard, or you sell boats? What a cool occupation. I always wanted to work the sales end of something COOL, just so I could get the product at a discount. (you know, like Dell, or Nike, or Ford, or someplace like that...) Closest I've ever came to sales was insurance. :(

Oh yes, I am THE wise one. The fact that I got "boat salesman" out of::
Quote: The good news is there will be a lot more boats on the water in Oklahoma due to our sales diligence
....is just plain amazing. Again, you'll have to excuse my strange posts here today.... it's just another manic monday:)
(someone should think of putting that line in a song... ya think?) LMAO
But Hot Rod boats, even better. Actually, I learned more than I had previously known about boats when I DID sell insurance..... we had to ask SO many questions to quote and write the policies correctly. Never personally owned much bigger than a bass boat... but I love the water. (lakes and rivers... )
Great, now this talk has gotten me in the mood to go fishing. Haven't been since about last September... can't wait to start going again this summer:)

Aw, man...... then you need to pack up your flyrod and gear and come out here to Oregon. We have awesome fishing here. The places I can get to (with good fishing) within 30 minutes of my house is ridiculous. Rivers, streams, lakes, and ponds all over this place.
But, naturally, it can take me about 2-3 hours to drive around and find that "one perfect spot" that isn't crowded with others fishers for the day:)
Never been ice fishing.... I like to fish for bass, trout, bluegill, stuff like that, that makes ya stand on the bank while the sun beats down on ya all day. Or catfish at night, that's fun too. I never really liked river fishing much at all until I took up a flyrod... now I love it. But I don't know if I could fish with ice on the ground.... I'm afraid I'd be a whiny companion, I don't like the cold. Rain I can handle, but not freezing temps.

During six years home ported out of Norfolk we would go down into N Caroliona and rent a flat boat for a dollar a day. Float along the banks of backwaters and with surface lures catching 3-4 pound bass. There is nothing like a 4 pound bass coming out of the water and the pull of the line when they hit water again.
It wasnt too many years ago I was poking around some gravel pits by the Poudre river here Cat tails one end I had a spin rod in the pickup with 4 lb tst and prob 4 yeas old.. So I put on a little popper and creeped up to the bank Carefully plunked it into the water ... Two vees formed in the water headed toward it A big bass hit and run My reel screamed and all of a sudden SNAP...I was standing there a rod tip bouncing in the breeze and im having a heart attack!!!I did catch a 5 1/2 lb bass here in co which isnt common. There is nothing like it in the world...

Yeah, you're right.... that's the best kind of fishing.
Lots of people flock to lakes and streams when they know they've just been stocked...... I hate that. Why would I want to catch a whole bunch of itty bitty fish who just bite your line and their dead time you get them on the bank? I would rather catch ONE big fish that you have to play in to get.
Though I did freak a bit the first trout I ever caught on my flyrod. (and it was NOT a fish to brag about... Loll) But I was so excited to have caught the first one from fly fishing... and to not lose it. It's such a different feel from a regular rod and reel...
I have a brother who has just always been good at fishing. I can stand beside him, same lure or bait, cast in the same area, everything..... and he catches all the fish. LOL But once he caught a big bass, and had to play it for quite a while to get it to the bank, it kept going to the opposite side of the pond to an old tree limb hanging in the water. Anyhow, he finally gets it out, and he's so excited about how much play it gave him..... He handed me his rod, flipped the bell..... and threw the fish BACK in so I could fight him in too. Funniest thing I've ever seen anyone do while fishing...... LMAO Funny when we went home, my dad said "wow, who caught this one?"...... and we both said "I did" , then busted up laughing.

I was helping a guy with his video machines and such. He bought a bunch of those nut machines and I would rde around with him munching on pecans. We went into a little bait shop and there were some fly rods hanging on the wall.. Now Im used to walking into Jax surplus and flopping a pole around and bending it fron tip to handle to check the action. I picked up this fly rod a wiggled it a couple of times.. A price tag was wggling so I looked at it./ 950 dollars I real carefully put it back on the hooks...

Yeah, those girls had a blast. My friend Steph showed up about two hours earlier and gave them a make up party too, complete with fake eye lashes. So, they were all made up when I showed up. They had a blast pretty much all day long.

Nah, mine didn't cost anywhere near that price mark. I'm not sure exactly how much it was- it was a mother's day gift:) But I know my hubby and kids would not have had the money NOR the desire to pay that much $$ for my first flyrod. They got tired of watching me cast my dad's out in the field with a twig tied on the end for weight.... practicing my rhythm on it, so they just bought me one of my own, haha. But I'm sure it must have been closer to the $100 price than anywhere near $900.
Good thing too, I've nicked the water with it quite a few times, learning it. I'm not the tallest person around, so standing in a few feet of water, it's hard for me not to:)
Did we scalp Mark's thread?
Well, just in case we did.....
Mark, we took it one step farther to talk about what we WISHED we'd have done last weekend. LMAO

My daughter and her friends did too (minus the eyelashes) ... I'm sure their mothers keeled over when they saw the hair and makeup they had on in the video. They looked like 12 year old fluzzies, haha. But they had a lot of fun, and that's what counts. I recently told my daughter she needs to invite them over again some weekend and show the girls the video again.... none have seen it since then. They'd die of shame, I'm sure. (since, as 16 year olds, they're all "mature" now) :D

No, no, there will only be the one video release of that:) That was a "one time only" special. And btw, you know it wasn't me filming. Lonnie thinks it's terribly funny to get me on video when I am shnockered. That's okay tho- cause I've gotten even.
And hey... I got your new MySpace request and added you. Mister, you gotta get a page setup!! Yours is much too bare.

The page you designed for me was great, but I'm far too boring to ever have anything new to add to the dang thing. Plus my song links kept disappearing because the songs were taken down. So I just decided to skip the whole thing.

Yeah, me too. FAR too boring....... I designed my page, put all my stuff up there, and I rarely even log in there anymore. Just when I get a new message or request. Only posted one bulletin, I don't figure people REALLY want to read my ranting on MySpace, cause that's what my bulletins would be, Lol.
Neat place to get to see a bit more of people than what you see here tho. (cause Phil wont let us decorate our pages and posts like they do)

Karaoke-wise I typed in here between getting the mail last saturday, brushing my teeth saturday night, and going to the bathroom twice on sunday. Needless to say, I had to spend the week recooperating (which is why I spent more time in here).
