I’ll start.  

As of a few weeks ago, I’m free of any steady gigs, so I’m at home, totally enjoying my weekends.  

Anyways… two weeks ago it turned into a party; 8 guests, lots of fun for all, but kinda tiring.  I like to sing stuff I don’t think they appreciate, so I tend not to sing much.  Not that they’d mind, but I just don’t enjoy it if I think they’re just politely enduring it.    :dontknow:

So this past weekend, I invited nobody.  Friday, wife was at work, just me and my buddy who’s cool to sing with, cause we both like the old-school ballads, soul, and Country.    :beermates:

He likes to share songs, switch off singing one screen of lyrics each.  He’s been a professional singer, but I can totally hang with him, so long as it doesn’t require a strong rock-type vocal.  

Another thing - I don’t like to drink much when I’m out, which is what I like about singing at home, I can drink enough to get a real buzzzzzz….. Not like I have to worry about pushing the wrong buttons or DUIs.  I’m sure my singing suffers, but hey, who cares?!  

So, I stood home, sang, drank a little, sang a little more, drank a little more… fun, not exciting for you to read about,    

but fun.  

So what did you do, and how’d it go?

I spent a weekend with someone I would rather not (the dragon from work) at a wedding expo and slept overnight in a kingsize hotel bed alone....not exactly a weekend made in heaven
only plus for me was purchasing cordless mic while up in the city

Everyone is stilll recovering unhinged . I spent my weekend working. Just picked up a steady Friday night gig to go with the Thursday and Saturday ones . Just not sure howww long I can do the Thursday, Friday,Saturday thing. I won't complain though as I am in the midst of upgrading my system...the extra $$$ is coming in handy!!

Okay, I'll give ya a play by play.....

Friday night: Had my grandbaby over while my son took his wife to the movies. He's crawling all over now, and is like a little whirlwind:)

Saturday morning: Went with my husband on a short business trip he had to take to Washington. (bo-o-o-ring) But it was a nice drive anyhow.

Saturday afternoon: Took a much needed nap, cause I had been up since 6 am cause of dang hubby and his dang business trip to Washington.

Saturday early evening: Drove to my mom's house to get an entertainment center and bookshelf she gave me. (real nice one too, all solid oak, looks nice in my living room)

Saturday late evening: Drove my 18 year old son to a friends house, and took prom pictures (he's a senior) , tried to hit the limo driver up for a ride alone in his car (but apparently he was unimpressed with my Charms, Lol)

Sunday morning: Slept in way too late, got up and had coffee to clear my brain

ALL DANG DAY THE REST OF THE DAY: I cleaned and rearranged my bedroom and music room. It was boring, took too much time... but it's nearly done:)

Sunday night: Fell asleep while reading my current novel "Spring Moon". I was too tired to even turn the pages.  :D

Pretty boring life, huh? Didn't even have a drink, visit a bar, sing one song (other than with my radio), nor did I pick up an instrument, other than moving them in the music room.

What a sad little story...  LMAO

I wish I could say that I have not been busy. I teach school all day long, go home, change clothes and start to work on the remodeling project I have going on at the house.  I have to get this done before the wedding in June!  I have laid 10 yards of concrete and I am now involved in building a new room addition.  Weekends are usually all the same. I try to sleep in just a little on Saturday mornings because the rest of the week I am up by 5:30.  After a quite Saturday morning sitting quietly enjoying my morning coffee and a bite to eat, I load my equipment and take a shower. After getting dressed, my daughter and I get in the pickup and drive to Odessa where I always have a Saturday show going on somewhere.  I dont think I have missed doing a show in 5 years on a Saturday night. Many Saturdays I have 2 shows to do.  I meet up with my band, we set up the equipment, do sound checks, and relax just a little before going on stage for the rest of the evening.  Then it is back home usually around 3 in the morning just to start the early week all over again, but it wont be long and I will have my home projects complete and things will slow down just a little! I have been too busy to sub in SS.  As a matter of a fact, I am sitting at my computer here at school typing this while my students work at their desks!--Mike

Busy weekend for me...

Friday night I had friends over for Spagetti dinner and we sang but something happend to the mixer so we stopped early and we were forced to drink our sorrows away....Woke up in a rather odd place in the house Early Saturday morning and went and crawled into bed...

Got up Saturday morning and counted the leftover Jello shots... Wondered?????How many of those did I drink??? And took 2 ibuprofens....Vegged on the couch all day with the hubby watching movies....

Sat night KJ came back over after his wedding gig and we hung out for a while and watched SNL...(Who was the chick singing on there??? OMG!!)

Woke up Sunday.. Feeling much better, thank you. And played around the house, cutting flowers, making more jello shots (for those who missed them on Friday) And then had friends over again for part 2 of our singing weekend.. Since no one had to be at work early on Monday It worked out nicely...  (oh, KJ bought a new mixing board, so we had a new toy to play with)

It was a relaxing and fun weekend.. Tried some new songs and if I do say so myself.. I butchered a few too..... I don't recommend only drinking Jello shots for your drink when you drink.. It's not pretty....

I teach, too.  Career-Tech.  I have two classes, 8:00-10:30, and 12:30-3:00,

so I have a couple hours between classes to  eat a little something, practice my guitar (just learning), and check out a couple forums.  

Sometimes I have other things to do, but not usually.  I guess I can’t complain about that.  

Actually I also have an aid, so when the kids are busy (or not) I do stuff in my office and sneak a peak here and there...

It is, after all, monday..... MY favorite day of the week these days:) I can't help but be a bit silly, I'm in a good mood.
