What Types Of Nasal Irrigation Products Are Available?
Nasal irrigation has been used for centuries through a wide variety of methods - everything from sniffing salt water from the cupped hand to the use of infant bulb syringes (which we do not recommend as mold can and probably will grow in the bulb). Many more options are available for those serious about obtaining the benefits of regular irrigation. A recent study took a look at three methods of irrigation, and concluded that the "distribution of contrast solution was more uniform using positive-pressure irrigation". This simply means that the irrigation solution is gently propelled into the nose rather than sniffed or poured in. The Nasaline Irrigator is a unique, syringe style delivery system that offers portable, positive-pressure irrigation.

Notice the warning in yellow about your method.

Now I will grant that there are more thorough and complex forms of nasal irrigation, but for a karaoke singer, at least IMHO, sniffing saltwater works just fine for a quick cleanse at home before you head out the door.

Now I am not skeptical. 8-)

Yes, I have replaced my syringe twice already (after 4 months doing it), because it was pretty obvious that there was the prospect of some contamination over time. It is only $2.44 for one.

I also rinse the whole apparatus in hot water on a regular basis, as was recommended.

the nasal irrigation didnt work well ..my one nostril opened up real good and is blowing air like a leaf blower but the other remained totally blocked........

but the tip from exweed farmer really helped.........

which waz

"I don't think the problem is your equipment but rather the way you sing.  Here's a simple test.  Hold you nose closed and sing, loudly.  If there is a noticable difference in your sound other than the muting of certain sounds such as the "n" sound.  You're singing through your nose.  Don't do that.  Get a swimmer's nose clamp at a sporting goods store practice singing with that in place.  It will hurt at first but your sound will be greatly improved in the end."
