Dang.
I'm gonna be a grandma AGAIN !!!
How many does it take before you go from "grandma" to "granny"? Cause I'm still in my prime, thank you very much, I'm not ready to hit "granny" stage.
My son and his wife have been trying for the last couple months... they want their kids to be as close to a year apart as possible. Personally, I wish they'd have waited, but.... I'm NOT going to be a medling mother or mother-in-law. They have my full support. They're great parents, they both have good jobs (daughter in law runs a day care, so she can take her children with her to work every day and still bring home a paycheck- GREAT job for her)...... Anyhow. No serious reason they should NOT have another one yet.
I'll be on here around October or so flashing new baby pics around.
Of course we're hoping for a little girl this time. But the odds are stacked against them on that, they both come from families with only one girl. But we'll see.... I don't really care, long as it's healthy and all that.
Tucker is now crawling (well, half crawl, half scoot) around the floor and saying a few baby words, pulling himself up, and all that good stuff 8 month old babies do. He seems so small..... but I imagine he'll seem huge when the new baby arrives.
Gosh, time flies......
Anyways, I'm just a bit bored, so I thought I'd share that little tidbit of news:)

Now I thought I heard Lonnie talking about this at Denny's a couple weeks ago, I wasn't sure if I heard right or not. Maybe we'll have to change the old nursery rhyme to "old grandmother Wainscott lived in a shoe........" j/k That's cool Charmin, you'll be happy spoiling grandkids for another year at least!

Oh, I'm not pi$$ed by any means.
I gotta admit, when I first found out I was gonna be gramma, it kinda hit me hard. But then, female notions took over...... and I was more excited than anything. I'm proud to be a grandma, and I have THE cutest grandbaby on the planet. :D The only ones who will ever be equal to him will be my "other" grandbabies.
It's just another phase in my life. And hell, I'm a GREAT gramma.
And...... THIS finally got my hubby to drop the danged idea that I need to get a reverse tubal so we could have another baby. LOL He's a baby freak too..... and Tucker has made him content with being a good grandpa. And he is one, he is absolutely ga-ga over Tucker. Spoils him to no end. But I love it, that's the way it should be.
Thanks Vicki.
Oh, and the pic..... I thought I should update since I've cut and colored my hair.
But, thanks:)
And thanks Odie.....

Don't go there..... if you know what's good for you.
You coming over to get your cd's? I'm home.

see I am not maternal, I was really lucky that my boy was a good baby cos I couldnt have handled a collicky one or a ratbag toddler. I didnt really identify with my son till he was of an age to have a decent convo with, now he is my best mate. We have some awesome convos...hell he even told me when he lost his virginity then started asking me all kinds of questions that we wont go into here

Congrats g/f!! :hi5:
Don't worry girl...no one would ever guess you were a grandma by lookin' at you...you look FANTASTIC!
Shoot...I'm having a mini-crisis over a couple of rather obvious white hairs I noticed yesterday  but I reckon my hair has to match my crow's feet...hehe!
*wanders off to find some hair dye and wrinkle cream*

Congrats babe! Yeah.. I think this makes you a granny now;)
My mother has been hinting that I should have another... But, I think they would be too far apart in ages for my liking. (Sky turns 6 in Sept)... Lol, the only way I would have had MORE, anyways, is if she had been a multiple....(Plus, Justy is getting "fixed" next month!:) My older sister is sterile or something, and my little sister (she is 23) doesn't want kids with her hubby until they are mid 30's! So, my mom is sad... She WANTS to hit "granny" status!:)

Congratulations Charmin! :worship: I have a friend who is a very young grandma, and I think it's great! You are young enough to keep up and enjoy them! I wish my daughter would hurry up.... but it doesn't seem to be in my near future. :(
Sounds like they've got their act together and are ready for it!
What a blessing!

Vicki, that's funny.... people are SO different. I couldn't wait to "grow up" and have kids, it was very important to me and I loved every second of it- still do. But of course, I grew up in a family of 9 kids, my mom was always the best mom EVER.... and I had tons of nieces & nephews..... so mothering kinda just came naturally I guess. I never thought much farther than getting married and having my own family. Makes me kinda sad now though, my kids are all growing up and I sit and think "what the hail am I gonna do when they all move out and don't need me?"... My kids and I all have a very good relationship, pretty open and honest. And yeah, I know what you mean about how when they get older they can ask some bizarre things.... I had a few discussions with my son who became a dad last summer that I never would have imagined myself having with him, Lol. Things change when they go from child to adult.
Tammy...... are you still flirting with me? Thanks g/f....
Gilly, I guess you don't find me attractive anymore then? Dayum it, and I didn't even get the opportunity to meet you in person yet:)
Sheree...... That's the way I feel. I had my kids young, heck.... I had my four by age 25. And so now I DO get to be a young grandma. I wouldn't have it any other way..... cause yes, it takes LOTS of energy to keep up with them. (and Tucker is not even walking yet, Lol)

Congrats Charmin !! Im glad your DIL has such a great advantage of her job ! It helps her by just being with the kids AND the kids learn to adapt to being around other kids before the shock of pre school or kindergarten. I wish you all a healthy happy baby

Well, hell, you just made my day g/f:)
Thanks Kelley. Yup, I agree with ya about my DIL's job. She tried a regular 9-5'er when I wasn't working, and left Tucker with me. But my lands, she came home almost bawling because she couldn't handle being away from him that long every day. And, actually, I'm glad she had a hard time with it..... I didn't want him going to someone else to be babysat (after I went back to work) This works perfect. I never left my kids alone either when they were that young. (daycare or babysitter) So, this is just right, she makes money and gets to be with Tucker, and yes... he does well being around other kids too:)

What do ya mean "....it appears I don't know how to do it properly" ??
I could beg to differ opinions on that- it surely worked on someone, but err.... I'm not in an ornery type of mood, so I wont go there;) I'm in a good mood actually. Got off work early, just had lunch with my dad & sisters for his birthday today, and the sun is shining brightly. Life couldn't be better at the moment:) So I'm gonna hop off of here and go sing a happy type song, Lmao.

MILF??
Charm is conFUsed..... :drunk:
Thanks guys.... er, I mean gals.
I'm excited about the new baby.
But, today, my son and his wife and my grandbaby are moving out into their new home. :( They've lived with us up till now. So now, I wont be waking up to see Tucker every morning and seeing him every evening any longer. I'm kinda sad. Excited for them, but still kinda sad. It's gonna be wierd not having him here each day, and not having baby furniture and toys all over the house.
By the way, Crystal, everything going well for you? Hope so.... good luck to ya:)
