Well,  quite honestly if I was asked to perform for a musician who was known to be a top-notch national musician I'd do the manly thing and say "Nope,  it's my time of the month, my flow is usually too heavy on that date".

The difference between a big time professional singer and a small time professional singer is that somewhere along the way the big time guy got really lucky.  Your country music royalty knows that.  Take a deep breath and don't worry about it.  Sing from the heart (and diaphram) and all will be well.

Hi Morgan! You should check out some of Gretchen Wilson's tunes.  She has some really good country stuff out there like, "All Jacked Up," "Here for the Party," and some others. You might look into some of the Dixie Chicks older tunes too. They did have some pretty good songs in the past that were up-beat and pretty good. Then, you can never go wrong with a good Patsy Cline tune like "Crazy."--Mike

:hug: who better to advise than the country man himself. Thanks Mike will look into those, I can sing crazy but since everyone hates it on SS I have never bothered to sub it lol

Oooops,   Sorry.   I didn't even know I posted that.  I was just thinking to myself and somehow my thoughts appeared in a post in here.   This seems to happen so often,  I'm starting to wonder if I'm a senesthete   {Jumbled up senses 'n stuff}

Vicki, be a good little witch......

They asked you to do this as a "friend"...... not as a rival to their NZ country music stardom....... just go sing your heart out, and don't be intimidated.

(hell, have a few vodka n' cranberry drinks first... works like a charm when you're nervous)  :D

I'll go listen to some of your songs, and see if I can think of a good vocal match for you. (country wise) Of course, it will only be my humble little opinion. :D

For one..... yes, do Patsy Cline. She's a good fit for your voice I think.

Kitty Wells might be too.

Hell, just pick some.... and sing 'em like there's no tomorrow.
