Hello everyone! I was a bit suprised when I saw the RSQ E500 advertised as "the only unit that will play both NEO-G and SCDG".  I was wondering if anyone has been able to do this, and how? I own this particular machine so I bought one SCDG to try it out and not much to my suprise it will not play. However a menue does pop up and it has several setting options which has me thinking it  just has to be set up correctly. On the contrary I spoke with tech. support at RSQ and they claim it will onlyplay their NEO-G disc and cdg. Any help or clarification would be much appriciated!

Thanks

Yes I have had no luck playing CAVS in RSQ, but I was able to get more information from this seller. I will copy and paste our conversation. My Question was "how do you set up the ESQ to play cavs discs? I tried to play one in mine and had no luck".

RESPONSE:   "You most likely cannot. RSQ is no longer permitted to make the E500 with SCDG capabilities. The machines I have were manufactured before the agreement by RSQ to stop including this technology in their machines. You won't find this machine any where else. I have a very small number of these machines. If you are interested in one, let me know.

Next Question I asked "Thanks for writing back. I am interested, but I have another question, can you switch back and forth between NEO AND SCDG just by changing the disc, or do you have to change the setup or settings in the machine every time you switch formats? Just out of curiousity how much do you want for one of these? I am not interested in the music that is advertiesd with the player, I already have that collection.
Thanks

RESPONSE: "The chip automatically recognizes the format, so there is no switching back and forth.  I only have 9 of these left (which are the last ones like this on the market).  I plan to get at least $400 each with or w/o music.  I am leaving today on vacation to Brazil until April 3rd.  I will try to access my email regularly.  If you are interested in a player, let me know.  I will not be able to ship any more out until I get back."

What do you guys think? Is this guy blowing me smoke? Has anyone ever heard of this limited production RSQ player?  Its  believeable to me the technology exists and maybe CAVS and RSQ agreed not to manufacture machines that would play each others format, but  why? They don't make the discs do they?

RSQ NEO-E500   Stay away from this piece of crap..... I bought one a few months ago hoping to use it as a back up. I have an RSQ single tray think its a 202. (one of the work horses) still works great. I have a CAVS single tray too.

the RSQ NEO-E500 dosent play all of my custom burned disc's, it is soooo sloooww to load. you have to select repeat all each time you put a disc in to go from song to song, the drive or whatever is in there runs weather the unit is on or off...as long as it's plugged in you can hear something in there running.
I have two friends that have one also and one sent his back and they sent a new one ...the same thing's slow , allways running, dosent read all disc's.
so I have seen four of these unit's and they all acted the same.
hate to say this but my CAVS unit never let me down yet even tho it too is a slow loader.
I just hope my RSQ single tray workhorse last's forever.
