I have a VocoPro CD-G/DVD/VCD player.

I have CD-G CDs.  

Do VCD and DVD karaoke disks work the same way?  Lyrics in the bottom or is there more to it?

All my karaoke CDs are VCDs. VCD is just like movies. The lyrics are like subtitle at the bottom of the screen. The background is not just blue, but a moving video, normally related to the theme of the song.

Thanks.  I assume it's the same for a DVD.

It depends on the manufacture. Soundchoice DVD's are the same as their cd+g's just in the DVD format.

I just order another $200 in CDs today.
