her name is sabra and she has a new owner.... 
i wasn't able to provide her with the attention and care she needed so i decided to let her go to someone on a trial basis to see if it would work out....and it did....she bonded to her new owner almost instantly and is very happy in her new home....i have visitation rights though....  ll....she's doing great.....
i did get 6 parakeet babies a few weeks ago, i've been meaning to tell you about them....they're in a flight cage and i let them out to fly pretty often...i'll get some pics of them....

Jeanne, I'm glad Sabra has bonded with her new owner. That is a good thing, sad for you of course, but she's happy, as is the owner. I like the "trial" basis, and I think that's just how things should be, if for some reason the two aren't compatible, your door is always open. that's great.
Parakeets are amazing little birds, Mine was an amazing bird, very smart little bird.. I'd get another parakeet in a heartbeat if I could tolerate having a pet at this point that lived only 5-15 years, but on the other token a pet that lives a longer life span must be a VERY careful investment regarding compatibility... BUT, I'm also concerned about a pet that will outlive me, what if we aren't compatible ? Can you imagine the poor bird ? It'll want a life, and all I do is sit on my perch and type all day and night ? Just isn't fair to the animal

that's one reason i got a little flock....i'm not evennnn going to try to bond with them, it would be pointless to try anyway, ....i love watching and listening to their chatter though...they're funny little critters

That's the difference between having several birds as opposed to one bird as I'm sure you know... One or two birds view you as a member of their flock, they really do.. Mine did all the morning calls, to make sure I wasn't eaten by a preditor at night, and if I didn't respond she got quite agitated, She was the head of the flock, she'd circle my head at around 8:30 AM if I didn't respond, assuming I didn't get up, she'd start peeling the wood on a picture frame near to my bed, she knew how to get my attention LMAO Cutest thing that bird...
Now with several birds, it'll be tougher for you to warm up to them of course. You might not even be considered another bird :(
