I want some duran duran and the two discs that seem to fit are a Legends disc 193 and a chartbuster 400092. the legend has way more songs but seems cheap (7 bucks). anybody have any experience here? I'd buy soundchoice but I don't think there is one. no I'm not gay. LOL
PS - just got the James Taylor, Judas Priest SC discs. way good!
PSS - Doctor Music (out of the UK i think) had a couple cool Billy Idol songs that were acceptable if anybody cares
PSSS - found a Tom T Hall disc that was fun, but didn't have sneaky snake or "who's gonna feed them hogs" on it, my 2 favs

I own several of the Legends disc and like them quite well. For the price they're pretty hard to beat.

I've got both the Duran Duran discs you mentioned. In terms of quality I'd say they're about even; not the best, but acceptable. The Chartbuster disc has the vocal versions, but you may not care about that.
Personally I much prefer the Legends disc, as it has more songs. I think the only one the Chartbuster has that Legends doesn't have is "Is There Something I Should Know," so if you care about that song you might prefer Chartbuster. The Legends disc also has several non-Duran Duran songs on it that I like, including "Regret" by New Order, "Love Cats" and "Friday I'm In Love" by the Cure, and "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell. The additional songs make the Legends disc the better pick of the two in my opinion.

We have The Who (037), The Doors (098), Fleetwood Mac (067) and LindaRonstadt/Melissa Manchester (088) from Legends and really like the quality I have sung off the Fleetwod Mac disc at home on the PC, on a small system and 2 "club-sized" systems and they always sound good.
The only downfall I have seen is that when the lyrics are wrong they are horribly wrong and sometimes do not even form sentences! However, only had one song like that so far. IMO it is easier to find lyrics and learn them than to find a good but affordable backup track, so we are planning on buying more Legends regularly.

Sunfly has a Duran Duran disc as well. That's the one I have, I'm really happy with the quality of the songs.

occassionally, karaoke.com has specials on their discs (three for xxx, 5.99 each after buying six, etc), and legends are often included in those. karaokeexpress does this as well!

Express Karaoke 9.99 for legends no minimum
Karaoke dot com 13.99 if you buy 2 or more
KaraokeSurplus 9.99 but selection varies from time to time
KarokeExpress 13.54
Ace Karaoke 15.95
These prices are as of 02/02/07
Express Karaoke is a Karaoke Scene sponsor, they ship U.S. Priority mail and you'll have your disc in 2-3 days. I placed an order for 10 disc last night.
Your best bet is to always shop around for the best deals and service. While some companies may charge less, you'll probably pay more for shipping. But you can find deals from time to time with free shipping. So considering the average price per disc and shipping from various companies, your price will generally average out to about 11 bucks on Legends. My main concern is the time factor. What good does it do to get free shipping on a more expensive disc if it takes a full week to get it to you.
ExpressKaraoke wins hands down in my book, and I've bought from all of them.
