Does anyone off the forum ever go to your shows BD? Perhaps you should make your location known. I bet a bunch of people would enjoy it. All hype aside, I'm sure you run a good show.

If he really did, he would make his location known and be proud of it.

I just visited Lonman's show tonight, and he runs a truly awesome show. Great sound, nice stage, best foldback/monitor I have heard in quite a while, and a great crowd.

Oh, and no dead air or false starts, either. 8-)

I knew he would run an excellent show. Usually I worry about whether the KJ will get the key change right (because I usually go down one or two steps for most songs) and in this case I just assumed it would be done right. Of course it was.

I would visit Mr. Dog's show too, eventually, as I travel a lot. Were I to know where it was, that is....

Mike is a great singer as well.  Fun songs, at least songs that I never hear - although he only got 2 in before he had to take off, pretty busy night.  Heard It In A Love Song is one of my fav's!!  Look forward to the next trip up here in the next year or 2    Maybe we can get a little KS get together planned from the NW area or broader.

That would be great. I have seen some for Texas, and am waiting for something I can get to!

Thanks again, Lonnie, for a great time. You are an awesome host.

Hey, I really don't have a Dog in this fight but did want to say something here... I am a part time KJ but I also love to sing. I have gone to other peoples shows and heve witnessed the KJ playing entire songs between singers and once the filler song is finished calles the next singer and then starts looking for the next disc.. I was furious and when I asked the woman if she was here as a KJ or is she just a waiteress filling in for now cause the KJ was sick... No she said she is the entertainment and thatshe uses the filler time between singers to take a break or to talk to the croud.... havent been back since.....

Now that is a totally differrent story.....

The only time you will hear more than 20-30 seconds of filler is if a singer changes their mind and I need to re-program.....

I guess there are people than can push something into too much of a good thing!

So did BD place the Banned logo himself, of did a mod do that, and how long is it going to last?

There have been KS get togethers in TX and OK, so I'm sure whenever BD posts his place and times, people will show.  I happen to have plenty of comp time at work I need to use, and I got some free round trips from Jetblue I've got to use.

he was banned through actions of his own... I'm no mod, so have no way of knowing how long this action will be. I see that a prev. banned person is now back, so anything is possible.

Banning doesn't mean anything unless they ban the IP address for someone with multiple accounts.

I for one am happy to get back to logical arguements. Now, what was the current news on CAVS?

lol

As I posted elsewhere, I don't use filler between songs. However, since the smoking ban in NJ went into effect, I play one filler song out of neccesity between the end and start of rotations so smokers can go ut and have a butt without having to miss anything.  The time cost of this song is no worse than adding one singer to the rotation, and I receive kudos for doing it.

Either way, why get all bent up about how another karaoke host does their show? If you think their way is worse than yours, great, no competition right? If you think it's better, learn from it.  No reason for hostilities....

ha ha  LMAO your initial post was funny bigdog.  I guess you are just a purest.  But reality is like the invisible hand of economics sometimes:  people want what they want and providers (bar owners, entertainers, dJs, KJs) will provide it at a rate they can make money at.  that's just the bottom line.  you are complaining about peoples wants.  entertainment isn't about what you want BigDog, it's about what the people want.  that's like the american car manufacturers complaining about losses because people aren't buying as many amcars.  there is a reason for it, and in a market economy in a sector with no real monopoly, the buyer will eventually get what he wants.  you probably already know this, because even though half of you lives in a dreamworld, i think the other half knows what is up. you are entertainment in yourself even on this website!  kinda like stern....the people that like him listen for 30 minutes, and the people that hate him listen for an Hour!

bigdog, the KJ everybody loves to hate!
