As long as the poll to all is concise and brief with one-line KEY points (bullets).. It will be acknowledged by all that care enough within a several week time-frame but that's the MINIMUM amount of time it should be available. Some are away a portion of January. Some are loyal members and have been for a long time but post less frequently albeit steadily, right ?
I'm all for whatever is agreed upon. But do we have to have a poll to decide this one, too???? LOL LOL
EDIT: There's got to be a definite end time though. Some people have already read this and didn't vote and don't intend on voting at all. If you are active on this site you WILL see and hear about this poll. If you are a casual SS'er then I don't think you're gonna really care so much.

I disagree .. even the laziest of lazy email checkers almost always check their email once a week. I say get the flippin' email out ASAP ... set the vote for 10 days from that date..... and be done with it. Those that vote ... vote. NO ONE will be able to say they didn't receive an email .. with PLENTY of notice.
And yes, Im getting a little tired of all the "oh but waits'. We are gonna try to do it as fairly as possible .... and we all KNOW that.

Quote: Should we add any of these features to the SS? (No ending time set) Delete comment 5% Preview comment before approving 11% Report inappropriate submission 11% All three features 44% Leave things as they are 27%
I'm confused. Don't we already have the option to preview comment as much as we want, and go back to the box in SS we posted our comment in and revise the composition as many times as we wish to ? Our original (at least my) paragraph and editing software is open when I go back to SS and read what I typed to you. I can revise my comments now if I so choose.

that is for the commenter, the option being mooted is for the subber of the song to be able to preview the comment that has been posted and either allow it to be viewed or delete it

Whoa!! After reading the rest of this thread, I learned alot more about how people in SS conduct themselves from a listening standpoint, but that in no way affects my desire to sub or not to sub.
I sub when I have time, I listen when I have time, I read in the forums when I have time, but usually, It's just one or the other at a time.
But I always reply to my comments received. Some people who always get loads of comments never reply to them. Yes, I think that's rude, but I've never publicly displayed my dislike on the subject.
I do kinda feel sorry for the singers who get only 1 or 2 comments on a decent sub.....probably because of the fact that they don't regularly return the favor???
After reading this stuff, it does kinda seem like the whole place is a joke. Who really knows what anyone thinks about their singing whether it be under "C" or "JFF"?
I just discovered the singer that Nathan mentioned tonight.....she's fantastic!!
But I don't expect her to listen to my music and leave an equally glowing comment.
I think that's why alot of people don't comment at all after listening....with all the hype around this place all the time, they don't want to seem like they're fishing for new listeners and commenters. I kinda feel that way when I listen and comment to someone new now.
But the fact is, I am not a great singer, so I don't expect the 20 to 30 comments that the really great singers receive.
Also, I've noticed that some of the people who use to listen to me long ago and leave glowing comments, and are still active at SS, don't comment anymore.
Is this what it's all about? Listen to me, I'll listen to you? You take time to be nice to me, and I'll reciprocate the gesture? LOL
I'm sorry folks, I just don't have the time. Mainly because I'm a truck driver, and secondly because I get my a$$ in a sling everytime I sit down to this pc for any period of time at all.
So, for the ones with the mentality of "oh, you hurt my feelings cause you never comment on my subs", I apologize in advance. I have even acknowledged the fact that I haven't listened regularly.
It seems like an overhaul of a few functions at this site isn't the only solution.....it's a people problem. And until people stop being so self-gratuitous and demanding, this is all a waste of time.
Maybe a better solution is to restrict SS users from participating in the forums?

None of these options would be necessary if we could enforce a "time out" policy.
No coding, no changes of any sort. After one or two people receive a short time out period it will get better.
Since people can't be held accountable these options need to be considered.

Here's a bit of an update, Cindy is working on writing up a voting ballot for the SS members to cast their final vote on. Luly and I will look at it too, then Phill will send out a final voting notice to everyone. The final results/suggestions will be given to the Administration for review and possible implementation.

I really think a sort of "time out" or "suspension" would "help" at least...I mean they obviously "thought" about things like whats goin on now happening or we wouldnt have a ban button. I agree 100% that people arent being held accountable for their actions here & THATS why things get to the level of "bickering" that has been shown over the last months Ive been here at least .. Like I said I wrote admin & P.hill & neither one of them responded until I wrote again & again & again ??? & STILL didnt get any help at all... What was up with that I do not know... but it wasnt kool b/c I was TRYING to resolve things (in my situation) before they got to the point they did..Ya gotta do what ya gotta do if you feel thats your only option ya know...IF someone "big" (admin or P.hill , well admin cause P.hill says he doesnt deal with stuff like that he just maintaines the site operations...which I completly understand that now... in case anyone else tries to get help with a situation like mine) had intercepted I would not have continued to defend myself I would have had no reason to b/c it would have been taken care of by authority. I think ALOT of these things CAN be settled by pm BUT if they are not there SHOULD BE someone that WILL intercede.

I agree with you to a point Vicki...I meant IF you were not happy with the results of "trying" to work things out thru pm's that it would be nice if "authority" would step up to the plate & help resolve so both parties were at least satisfied...instaed of having to take it upon ourselves in a public forum to get things to cool down or heat up...light a fire under someones arse..."show them for what they really are" to get them to leave you alone, whatever the case may be..
Oh & I agree time outs rarely work for me in parenting when they were LITTLE but taking away the nintendo DS or the cell phone is kinda like a "time-out" & THAT DOES work so as in time out I mean taking away privelages like posting or subbing or even commenting ??? Just throwin some things out there..

I still theorize that if the number of comments and the comments themselves were readable ONLY by the person submitting all would be well, or at least contained to some degree.

Actually I don't know enough about this to agree or disagree. It sounded good at the time so I tried to say it with a little attitude.
I'm not supposed to wipe with sandpaper? This might explain some of my doctor bills.
