Try the poink or yellow ones.. The red ones have been so over breed that they don't have very much smell anymore.... ..
Thanks.. Check out this chantix stuff that I am on when you get ready....I'll keep the thread updated with my progress......

Good job Sharon. I go to the doctor tomorrow. I hope he is cool with prescribing the same stuff for me. I need to also tell him that I keep ripping my CPAP off of my face in my sleep.

I am SO proud of you! Two days can be an eternity when you first quit! Beware the hunger feelings, though; nicotine is actually an appetite suppressant so you are going through more than a mere oral fixation. The fat chick knows these things.
So...are Rich's meatballs still upstairs? When Chuck said y'all were making some, I figured Rich was downstairs helping and y'all were staying busy to keep smoke-free. Silly me. LMAO

Good luck with the doctor thing tomorrow...
I wonder why you are ripping your CPAP off??? You know you may not need it if you stop smoking...Hmm.. That's a good thought...Who knows....
So if you get the prescription from your doc... You'll have about 7 days till you actually stop.... Make sure you register with the website the day you start taking it.. I registered the second day and I am a day behind on the encouragment..It's funny cause yesterday it was telling me that today was my official quit day... Boy I sure could have used the encouragement I got today yesterday...WEW!! I think I am confusing myself.....
I'll be thinking about you and we will be eating all these delicious meaty balls without you this evening.....

Well, I started the stuff you are taking Sharon. Today is my first day. I feel a little different already. It feels like today is the first day of the rest of my life. My insurance actually paid for part of the prescription. My doctor gave me slightly different directions.
I will be stocking up on little candies tomorrow.
My fingers are tingling.
It's a good thing I didn't give away my fat pants yet.
The instructions say to quit in a week. I'll go with the instructions.

I wound up having to take a nap today and had one of the dreams already. I dreampt that the world was being ripped in two and there was a big cover-up about it. Talk about confused.

There are no foods, or vitamins that can ward off the ill ramifications of smoking. There are no exercises, or any healthy lifestyles that can counter the long term effects of smoking. If anyone says this, they are working for either the vitamin, or the tobacco industry. You can't say you practice a healthy lifestyle, and smoke too....it's a contradiction. About 20 years ago, the local High School swimming coach was selling vitamins at our biddy basketball fund raiser. He was smoking, and I asked him how he could try to promote something healthy, while sucking on a cancer stick. He prescribed to the theories I mentioned earlier, and swore by these vitamins. He now has one lung left, and it's not in too good of shape either. Most of you on here, are at an age where stopping now can have a huge impact on your health, but that window is closing fast....I don't mean to offend anyone, but you'd be surprised at the number of friends, family, and co-workers, that I have lost to smoking......you can beat this thing......you will beat it.....I have faith in all of you

These are people that have smoked for over 40 years and right now combined they are smoking (hold on to your hats!! and sit down) 6 cartons a week!!!

Isis, I too have used the Chantix. A little late in the response, but it does help and will work if your mind is set to want to do it.. The doctor prescribed it and the first week I started taking it, I also was on antibiotics, which the doctor said would not effect the Chantix. It did however make me deathly nauseated. A combination of the antibiotic first thing in the morning and Chantix. My quit date was one week later. By the time I was on the two pills a day, I was so nauseated all the day long I could not stand it. He (Doctor) told me to stop the Chantix and pick up where I left off as soon as I was done with the antibiotic. For Bronchitis no less!!!! That was enough for me right there to want to quit. Never had it before, but was awful coughing all the time. Anyway, I finished the antibiotic, and then started the second pack just as I would have done the first had I finished it. My doctor said it would be alright, but I may need to take the second month prescription also. Mine cost about $45.00 with insurance coverage. Still much cheaper than cigarettes for the week. I am on the third pack of the prescription, and I really do not feel the need to smoke. Sure I have urges when I have a stressful day at work, but I have a zip lock bag of celery, peppers, and carrots with me all the time at work and munch on them. (Healthy if you can chew on those without the ranch dip, but they make those neat little containers that do not need to be refrigerated.) (Guess you know where I am going with that. Lots of calories.) But this Chantix is amazing. And I am sure that I can kick this habit. I have been smoking so many years that it was just as important as putting on my makeup to go outside of the house, or having to have a cup of coffee in the morning to get moving. Always had to have one.
I think with the new laws of non smoking in public places, many people will be turning to whatever methods will work for them. I have already gotten a few others to try it and they are succeeding also. They thought if it could work for me then it could work for anyone.
Good luck to you, and pass the word around!!!
Good luck to all of you who have tried it, and are succeeding.

It sure can't hurt. Also, Phatrat is quitting by shear willpower. There will be no whining in his presence.

So how are all you quitters doing?? I think this is one good time to be a quitter...They say quitters never win but in this situation we will win...
I think I am going through my crabby stage cause boy have I been crabby the last 2 days... Rich has been crabby too.. Not a whole lotta fun hanging out with us... Heck we don't even want to be around each other right now.
But this too shall pass.. It has been 6 days, and I don't so much have cravings as I do the habit of reaching for one. I found myself sitting at my desk yesterday for a solid 4 hours without getting up. When I did get up I thought I was going to fall down cause my legs were asleep from sitting so darn long..It was kinda funny....At least I thought so....
I am enjoying the website support I am getting.. They give some great things for you to do...
Anyone that is my check in for the day..
I hope everyone else here is sticking with their program too....
