OK I am upgrding and putting together a new system.
Please don't tell me what I use now sucks .

I need a new amp amd have absolutely no clue what to get. The one I have now works good.
I have LYM-800 Digital Echo karaoke Amp. I would get that but cannot find it. It has 3 mics.
I also would like to go from a single peavy PCX-U12 wireless to a double wireless...peavy doesnt have a dual system. What is the best Dual system?

Yea that would work...so you think Behringer is good?

yes I am basically getting new stuff for my system and using the old stuff to buil;d another system for a friend to work. I like the way mine sounds but I may as well get the new equipment .

Yes, I think Behring is good.  I switched from Peavy/Crate to all Behringer about 3 years ago and have NEVER EVER had a problem.  I feel Behringer provides the best vaue for your $$$$.  Others (lonman ) will disagree.

well Thankyou I will look around as I neglected to tell you i have a rack mounted system . And well Lonman hasn't chimed in . I bought this system put together. It's fairly old so most things in it are out of date.

Wow OK so I went and looked at you guys systems. So I am a hack?!
I would so love to put a system like that together. It is not a money thing.I have a small rack mounted system. I work in SMALL bars. In some of these bars I am working off the pool table cause there is no room for a table. In order for me to justify putting together a system that size I would have to drive an hour to find a bar big enough for it to be worth putting it up.

You have got to realise... Size is not important
(so my X told me, but then she left me for bigger things)
I have seen big systems that sound sh1t.
You must still be able to operate it proficiently.
It dosn't automaticly sound good because it's big.
A good engineer can make a small system sound good.

Thanx Jerry...it was "kinda" the point I was trying to make .
Frankly I like my amp. It is 800 watts with 4 channels and works really well. I was looking for a new one for an upgrade as I couldn't find the one I have...but I have found it and will be going with it again. I do not have a mixer. Although I have in the past...I am not good enough with it to use it correctly.
I am planning on getting one and playing with at home until I am comfortable enough in using it that I will not make the singers sound worse ......First do no harm as it were.
I work in fairly small bars ...there are no corporate events...I Occasionally do weddings for my karaoke friends knowing that is what they really want.
I am not a hack but I am a medium fish in a small pond. I have had people from the Twin Cities come to my shows and say what a great job we do. I do a quality show. I know my regular singers and non- singers by name in all the 5-6 bars I do regularly.
I read this forum every day. I come here for hints ..advise ..and just to read for fun.

Use the rest of the system, instead of half of one.  LMAO


If you buy wireless microphones make sure that they have true diversity receivers.   That means the the receiver has two channels.     One microphone, two antennas.       Not two microphones and two antennas.

I will look Big Dog Thankyou. I guess I will just stick with my peavy then. It is exactly as you described.

When you say duel mikes you mean two mikes and one receiver?


No, because with one receiver you will have dead spots where the frequency drops out.   If the singer moves around.    The KJ I learned from had just such a setup.   He had to play around with the antenna to get the dead spot on the ceiling.

With a diversity reciever you have no worries.

OK Thankyou. I do not really want to deal with dead spots!I will just stick to the one I have. I have never had a problem with my Peavy.
