Hi guys,

I mentioned about my new toy, the M-Player, in my last post.  I bought it during my trip to CA last Xmas.  I discovered it at a friend's house where he gave me a karaoke demo.  I bought one the next day.  It is like a mini PC with a removable hard-drive and memory slots (sD, Compact Flash,...).  It plays karaoke, music and do picture slideshows.

I had problem earlier trying to turn off the voice off.  While on biz trip last week, I stopped by the manufacture in San Jose, CA and had the firmware upgraded.  Meanwhile, the technical guy there gave demos with DVD Karaoke and CD+Gs ripped in the hard-drive.  Everything worked GREAT !  (time to put away my MK-22 players)

I took some pictures earlier, but their website says it all:
www.baytechlive.com/viv/

I am happy with the discovery  :dancin: ... can't wait to host some friends this weekend.  We're doing karaoke after the games.

Cheers!

I don't see on their site that it plays CDG or MP3+G.  Does the files have to be converted to another format say AVI for the cdg files to work?

DannyG2006,

I haven't done it to tell you.  I brought a CD+G disc, the technical guy there used his CD+G ripper (what he called).  It played perfectly.  I don't have the software.  I'll try to convert the CDG when I have time and let you know.

Does this player come with DVD and VCD Karaoke ripper?
The VIV website doesn't tell much about information and firmware update.

The new firmware turns on/off vocal.  I couldn't play karaoke with old firmware.  No, doesn't come with CDG ripper.
