I'd give my opinion but I'm not allowed to have one by Morgan until if figure out this darn snoggin thing. From what I understand by Morgan's post is that she wants everybody to stop critiquing and to start snogging. How can you get upset with someone your snogging.

Hey y'all....I'm home sick still....wish this dang bug would go away...so I had some time to read through this whole thread. Now...I've seen this problem with critiques since my beginning of time here and I'm sure it existed before then...I don't think anything will ever change or get resolved. I said it on one of the subs and I'll say it again. You have to be in right frame of mind to both critique and to receive critique. If both worlds are the same, it's a perfect world....otherwise they collide.
I have an idea that I think may at least keep things a little happier around here. What if the singer had the option of deleting the comments they don't want? Just nip it in the bud before it gets heated. Hey, on myspace you can do this and the comments are supposed to be from your friends. So...what do you think?

I think its a Great Idea!!!! But then those who like to leave negative crap on your subs will complain til the day they croak about it......But alteast this would keep paying members from having to delete there songs just to get rid of some nasty snide negative remark!!!!! So I say do it....Please!!!!!! Then maybe only real Critique's will exist and only on those subs in which have requested it.
Now That I am am paying member I would highly recomend this option!!!
Luly you are smart!!!
Now lets see how this goes over....... LMAO

Mornin' Neo! Glad you changed your username from that other "one" LOL Lord, you shoulda been a women the way you keep changing your mind....

Let me add something....your subs can turn into a perfect world of wonderful comments with this feature...and probably even give you perfect 10's if you know how to manipulate it (if this feature is added). But, I think that is better than all the quarreling we've seen here and in the end, this is JUST a karaoke site, nothing more, nothing less. Those that are interested in pursuing anything professionally may seek to get some comments but don't STAY here for that. So...in the end, the ones that do stay are because we are interested in the camarederie, the friendships, the FUN of it all.
I say having the DELETE COMMENTS feature will give you, the singer, the option to keep your comments the way you like best. Even if you opened up your subs for critique and you still don't like what the person said, then wipe it out. End of story.
What do you say, Phill? Can we take a vote?

Go ahead critique me if you so desire, do your best to rip my heart out piece by piece. I’ve got news for you; you’re not going to diminish my spirit by critiquing one of my subs that I already consider below par. But now I’m upset! I feel nothing but burning anger running through my veins. Morgan sent me out to travel this cruel cold world to find out for myself exactly what constitutes snogging. In my travels I inadvertently stumble across this thread. What do I find? Moran has instructed Luly in all aspects of the art of snogging while I’m left to continue my miserable search.
I not only want, I demand my rights as an over sensitive critiqued male, to be instructed in the art of snogging. Therefore, I’m putting myself in Milo’s, Luly’s and Morgan’s hands. The three of you are commissioned to instruct me in all aspects of snogging. All I ask is that you be gentle. Upon my completion of your instructions a certificate of completion is to be issued in my name from all three of you stating that I qualify as a snogger on a professional level.
Shame, Shame, Shame, Morgan – You instructed Luly and not me – I am truly hurt. This is going to take a long time to heal.
Love ya’ll
P.S. Morgan - Let me know when I'm allowed to have and opinion.

E.J.! The wonderful thing about snogging is that it is so much fun your knowledge must be shared. I will be glad to sign that certificate once I am totally, completely, undoubtedly sure that you are snoggified. And for that, you will have to log in MANY, MANY hours of practice. :dancin:

Thats logical ! Great idea Luly !!
I dont even know why Im commenting on such b/c I dont ask for critiques & I have given maybe one or two since Ive been here & they werent "really" critiques, Im just not qualified for that serious kinda thing (it was "yeah the volume is a little low" kinda things). I truly enjoy people singing just b/c they share the same joy that I have for it...isnt that ebough ???

Good morning, Kelley  As both you and Neo pointed out, there are those that don't ask for critique, yet get it anyway, like you, like me, etc. In my opinion, this feature would allow you some control and make it personally suited for what you have in mind on this site, and therefore hopefully make it a better place for everyone.

Good topic Charmin. I say put your .02 in anyplace you want to around here....if somebody doesn't think it's appropriately categorized, they'll move it accordingly.
I once had a thread about the down side of listening through headphones in this forum that was moved to the technical forum......and it did relate to karaoke.....whoopdedooo.
Is this forum for kjs only? Did I miss something? It's titled "Open Forums" Karaoke Discussion Forum".
I don't wanna pi$$ anyone off, and I've shown alot of restraint in my short time at this website....but I too get tired of people who don't sub anything making fun of singers in SS.....if you don't want to try to sing....don't put down the ones who are genuinely trying....just move on to the next sub, or don't listen at all, then you won't have to look like a dufas commenting about your listening habits in the forum areas.....right?
I've been away from the SS side for a while now, but my reasons are entirely unrelated to the happenings in SS......I did sub a song last night just to see if I could generate some enthusiasm in myself to keep trying. I've hit a bump in the road it seems, but it'll smooth out eventually.
One thing I think people should understand about singers....or atleast what I've noticed about any singer is that they love to be praised for their efforts more than being told that they need more practice. This can be accomplished in any category of listening at SS. If I need more practice on a song, I usually know before I put it out there. I guess I keep hoping that someone will tell me the same thing I already know. I don't ask for critique, but that doesn't mean I don't welcome it. I seriously doubt that I'd run off crying like a baby if someone didn't like my song. Some people just need that validation of critique though I'm guessing.
Charmin.....would you be the queen of my double-wide? LMAO LMAO LMAO
The nerve of these non-singers....
You keep bein' yourself lady.....some of us appreciate you just the way you are.

Charmin,
I enjoy reading what others think about my singing. As I’ve said on numerous occasions in one way or another, “no one on this site can hurt my feelings – period!” In order for them to do so, I have to let them. I don’t care if the person is a professional or just a casual listener, I enjoy reading their comments. When it comes to music, what I like and dislike is subjective, a person may be the best singer in the world but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to care for his voice or the way he presents a song. On the other hand, (darn I really like singing that song), someone could be the worst singer in the word and I may enjoy his singing - depends on my mood.
I have noticed that the individuals in showcase have at least one set method of critiquing. When I sub a song that is really bad, such as my last sub, (I even tried to delete it immediately after posting), I will have listens and no comments. Once again I may be wrong, but to me this equates to “they don’t want to hurt my feeling.” Like mama said, if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything.
I still can’t believe how sensitive some of the individuals are on this forum. For myself, I find this rather disconcerting so rather than get taken into all of this squabble I’m directing all my effort into becoming a professional snogger. Milo, Kelly, Luly and Morgan have assured me that in time I will definitely attain my goal.
Love ya girl,
Jackson

Hey, looks like I opened up a bigger can than I meant to:)
Ah well.
To those of you who took this wrong: (Billy for one...)
I don't mean to run down those of you who SERIOUSLY want critiques. I use to also, Billy.... you should recall that. YOU were one of the ones who gave me honest feedback when I asked for it. (matter of fact, you gave me some really good ones as I recall)
But my point is, we just don't seem to get things on an even keel here. It's hard to weed out "who's honest, who's fluffing, who's being vindictive"..... and it's not worth it. The ones who get bad critiques (even if they're warranted) get mad at those who give them AND those who get good reviews. ( the "oh, you didn't like MY song, but you liked so & so's... who says they're better than ME?" shows up... I've seen this BEHIND the scenes) Somebody is ALWAYS at someone else's throat. That will never change here.
If all critiques could be "private", like on some boards, where you have to read it and "approve it" for viewing, that would be great. Then people with their panties in a bunch would maybe GET the critique they need to hear, but could choose wether others read it or not. I think "comparison" to others, not always the actual critique given individually... is what causes alot of animosity. You also get your "outsiders" who aren't a part of the showcase who sit back and snicker at those with good reviews and say "OMG- Do they BELIEVE all that fluff they're getting?". (BeachHeadBum used to go around swinging axes at those of us who got 10's)
But that's just one little gals opinion. Take it or leave it, I think- for now- the "critique" thing is sucky at best:)
To those of you who tried to cover my back (hugs Perry... yes I'll be your Queen someday, start saving for that doublewide, Lmao...) thanks guys, but I'm a big girl and can stand on my own two feet. I have my views on stuff, and I'm not afraid to stand my ground.
Cheers everyone, have a good day.
I GOT SNOW........!!!!!....... Pray my 1/2 slick old tires get me to work okay:)
