I add a little cayenne, too, but I am accused of occasionally running my mix a bit hot.

Seriously, this EQ discussion has gone on far too long, and I have learned a lot from many of you.  I think that it would also help if those of us who want to know more about EQ take the time to read the  "Equalization Tips" chapter of the Compact Mixer Reference Guide from Mackie.

Very true.  It has been informative, but unfortunately, peppered with inflamatory statements, too. (sorry, couldn't resist that.)

On a serious note, that is GREAT advice!

You missed my point.

The bottom line is, you are still trying to make the music sound consistent from one song to the next.   And that is exactly what I have managed to do.    With my soon to be patented "Set it and forget it" EQing method.

They (the twisties) have been adjusted once and they are not adjusted since the original setup.    Nor the master system EQ.   Every song sounds wonderful without all of the continuous EQ over adjusting.    I don't constantly have to change something that already sounds good.    There are no wild bass and high variations between songs.     They all sound comparable to each other.   Now what else can you ask for?    It's something I have been able to achieve and you.... have not.

Oh, yeah....I am quite sure your mouth sounds the same in any room.   :worship:

And to think dogs are known for their hearing.

So BD you can put in any disc you want from any manufacturer in any room and  you make absolutely no adjustments.  Is that what you're trying to say?  You never touch the board.
