There are very few other KJs on here, that have 14 years of karaoke experience.  :shock:  :whistle:

i am one of the few... who have 14 years experience BD.  In fact I have about 24.  
Now, that being said, I do not have a website, nor am I listed in the phone book as a karaoke company because it is not my main deal.  Hell, it's not really even a source of income since I spend about half what I make each gig buy drinks for myself and patrons.  As to my credentials - anyone can ask the Ft. Worth crew (who have been to my show even though Saturday Singer was running it for me that night because i wanted to party with them.)  they will give you the skinny.  my show is at Players in downtown Pflugerville (113 E. Pecan) on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 8pm and running 'til 1am officially, but usually until about 1:45.  The phone number is 512-251-6003.  Everyone come on out!  I would love to have you sing with me!

Lately, the idea has been "if you're offended, don't respond" I will respond, because I didn't take this as an attack, altogether, but as a recount of where there is Karaoke available. (I choose to believe this, because it is hard to find karaoke when you travel  :D ) I don't have 14 or more years experience, I was still a teen, per se.  :D Length of experience does bring knowledge, but does not make you a good KJ.
I don't have a website, like previously stated, it's not my primary business, and I too sink most of the money I make into discs, or drinks....

I've already made a fool of myself and listed where I host at,(It's in lower Alabama) and no my name is not listed with the bar in the yellow pages, though I've been there over a year, and karaoke has been there for at least 3 years.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!  :dancin:

Well let's see, I started last spring, been doing gigs for about 7-8 months now. As of now, I am the only Karaoke Host in my town. The largest DJ/KJ service around here got the boot as of last week from the largest marina in the area, so that just leaves me, Mr. Independent.
Currently working 5 nights a week at Angelos' Lounge located at Watts Bar Resort here in Spring City. I have my own booth area, no more driving back and forth to gigs, no more setups and breakdown. The owners treat me great, the wage is fair, the tips are good, the singers.....well you can't win'em all, but they're mostly a country crowd, which isn't bad, just boring, but hey, it's all good.
I had thought about doing a website and working up a promo pak, but found out quickly that I didn't need it, word of mouth was and still is your best advertisement.
But anyways, I thought the question was interesting. I for one would like to know where folks play, but I can see the need for privacy also.  
And oh by the way folks, I've seen these question about presentation, dressing up, am I too old. Keep in mind, I'm 50, still dress like a rock star, still love heavy metal music, horror movies and staying up til the wee hours of the morning reading a good book, or enjoying the company of a nice young female. So I say bollocks to all they naysayers, if you enjoy doing it, then do it. Forget what folks say. Remember it's reality vs. perception, there's the wannabes and the folks making a difference. I for one am gonna be in the folks making a difference line, because the wannabe line is way too long and way too predictable.

I've been kj'ing for going on 15 years myself, but everything I say can be proven.

Yes, silly not to, I want people to come to our shows.
 7 nights at the same place, won't list here due to advertising restrictions, but you can readily find on my web sites - since Oct. 94 & 2 years before that with another company that quit.  I no longer do mobile work by choice.


Try to keep high on the search engines - been a little behind keeping this up for the last few months, but is still usually on the second page of most searches for tacoma karaoke or karaoke in tacoma, advertise on every & any free site that promotes karaoke - no cost to me & benefits the club.  Will do print ads on occasion if something special is coming up.

And for the exact, time consuming reasons you just listed, I have no web site.    No phone book ads, because they never work.     14 years as a KJ, so how am I not just as verifiable as any other very experienced, word of mouth KJ?      :O  :whistle:

Mainly because you won't list any proof, so there is nothing to verify - that would be the main reason you aren't as verifiable as any other.

Let's see here.

Just over 12 years running karaoke shows at two places: 1994- 2004 at the first place, and since 2000 at the current place. Both businesses had/have in-house systems, but I have my own equipment for an occcasional side gig.... mostly weddings, private parties, etc.

Don't have a personal website, but the people I work for do.

Work and live just South of Knoxville, TN.

They're definately in the Yellow Pages.

.... and if that doesn't bring me out of wannabe status, I'll also add that my girlfriend and my mom both still think I'm the GREATEST K.J. in the history of the known Universe! Unconditional love at it's blind best.
