My mixer only have 1/4 Mic inputs, was wondering if it would make any difference if I got an XLR to 1/4 cable and use the XLR output on the mics instead..

If your mic has XLR outputs & your mixer only has 1/4" inputs, then you have to get an XLR to 1/4" cable (or adapter).

I bought the 2 sets of Shure PGX4 Reciever/PGX2Transmitter with the SM58 Condenser the other day, the reciever have both 1/4 as well as XLR, I'm currently using the 1/4 to 1/4 but I remember seeing some where that the XLR connections is supposed to be the better choice.

Works fine now, but if I can make it better with just a few cables then why not.

Going from XLR to 1/4" will not imporve the sound.  It may actualy decreas the sound quality as there are more connections between the receiver and amp.  Stick with the 1/4" since that is all your mixer has for inputs

thanks, I'll do that until i get afford a better mixer.

you may be able to buy XLR inputs to install on your board.  I know i did that on my audio snake.  i prefer the XLR connections to 1/4 myself.  i hate having adapters all over the place!  way too many things to go bad or wrong

the Vocopro is a Mixer/Amplifier and this is out of the question.

Ah you didn't mention the wireless issue.  If the receivers have 1/4" then you use 1/4".  XLR are better connections in signal & noise as these are balanced connections but unless you are balanced on both sides, an adapter is just going to get you connected as I thought you meant in your first post.

Again a potential and probbable impedence matching issue.
If you put a low impedence mic into a high impedence input you will get a devestating drop in volume.
XLR and 1/4" are not just a preferance.
