OK, there's a little original 'comedy' take off ditty of Venus on SS that some guy put up for comedy theme week. At least put up a Warning and take some obvious things out of the title.  I just don't think we can put any old thing that spews out of our "creative" little minds up on an open singer showcase. There's a time and place for all this kind of stuff.  Hey, I love old Frank Zappa songs and I wouldn't even want to see a lot of his stuff up there either!  LOL

I think the crux of what Odie is speaking about is the title of the submission foremost.  It's just tacky, and there are children on this site quite often (even submitting songs on SS).  Personally, that type of humor has failed me after a certain age bracket of my life, but that's personal opinion only.  They guy is actually quite a very good singer though!

After the BIG concern over the porno spam in the forums, I was just wondering what kind of standards we wanted for SS subs if any.  Personally, I think that (@$%&#!) sub crosses a line in some of the lyrics used since SS is open to all ages.  But there are a lot worse things going on in the world.

Hello Ollie.  I'm sure you'll have an interesting perspecive on this topic!  :)

It would be hard to actually come up with specific guidelines for sensoring subs and then put it in writing.

I think we all pretty much agree when we see a sub that has crossed the line and just need to inform administration.
I'm sure their time is limited and can't listen to every sub. So making a post like this one or PMing Phil is a good idea.

I couldn't find a moderator on line at the time.  I'm not sure if forum moderators have any control over SS or not,  hmmm....  Probably just contacting Phil is the best bet.

What I can't understand is the same people who call RAP junk, listen to the trash mentioned and think it's funny.. I took a listen for myself and after about 60 seconds ( which was more time wasted) I clicked off..just like I do when I see stuff like this on tv.. If  the submitter(s) in question get enough attention, of course, they'll come back with more and it will be more and more outrageous.  Ridicule of the human body seems to be man's way of dealing with shameful stigma  associated with what should be beautiful...Lord help us if we use the word 'damn' in a song...If I were the original writer of the classic songs used as a parody, I would be ripped.
