Peavey speakers, especially the Black Widow equipped cabs, are very high power. Driving them with less power than required will tend to blow them out pretty quick if the volume is bumped, & doubles the chance when you plug a subwoofer w/o a crossover on the channel.
That was BD problem mainly. The Peavey speaker setup he had connected together would've required almost 2000 watts per channel into 4 ohms, his amp - he claims he hasn't changed that - only delivers 900 watts into 4 ohms which is why he blew them out. The Yamaha speakers he now runs are lower power handling & at a 4 ohm load only requires about 1100 watts, a little closer match for the amp - although it is still technically still a little underpowered.
