Karaoke Forums

I'm going to be honest and be MYSELF without feeling compelled to go with or against any "room flow", and out've due deference to BOTH sides of this (meaning I do NOT wish to discount ANYONE elses emotions as being "wrong") I feel I OWE it to both sides to state what I do know, and feel.  Reason being,  I feel a need to make certain (whether the intent of this thread IS or is not lynchmob type mentality-  and I do not believe it was started with such intent) that many have in fact been feeding into (perpetuating) behaviour *perhaps inadvertently* they themselves find poor behaviour in such a venue, when behaviour and remarks you loathe CAN be ignored instead.  Nobody that hasn't taken shots at bigdog, has been singled out or personally character bashed by Bigdogs comments which are often in retort to remarks disagreeing with him and lashing towards his style in here, (at least as far as I have noticed while watching this ongoing discord). The battle field (at least to me), has appeared to be quite a level field.  Some dish it out, and in return take it.. but WHY a conspiracy to banish a person that hasn't bashed any of you personally, but just totally disagrees with some of your points, and "stirs the pot" regarding ON TOPIC content ?  SO WHAT if Bigdog calls himself "Karaoke God".  Does anyone believe that's more than a type of dry humor ?  If Bigdog wishes to talk himself up, has a dry SOH, and loves Karaoke,  does it really lessen anyone else ?  Most of us are middle-aged adults,  not Jr High kids trying to "prove ourselves" or defend ourselves against those that aren't taking personal shots at us (unless in some defensive stance).

I don't wish to tell ANYONE that they should or shouldn't take offense at the behaviour of any other member because there's always more than might meet my eye, or your eye.  The times I have voted to ban ANYONE in any forum has been because of a culmination of OFFENSIVE unprovoked bashing type comments and overt behaviour that might be bashing (even camouflaged malice) hateful or slanderous remarks DIRECTLY made towards specific individuals without what I felt to be provocation. ALWAYS in the case of indirect or direct threats of bodily harm, death wishes or actual pornographic images expanded in a "G" rated room (There just are certain ways kids DON'T need to learn about the facts of life). If someone keeps bashing me personally, and addressing me with ad hom remarks, I feel that's quite different than someone telling me my guitar style "sucks", or my classic rock preference sucks compared to grunge...etc..  Again JHO..
If someone out've the blue on several ocassions feels compelled to tell me what a $(#k(*G A&$(&(( I am,  I might find it so annoying and inciteful, that I will complain to mods or administration.  BUT,  if I bashed them minutes before that this is their retort,  I have no right to complain they punched me.

I've been in loads of artistic type stationary BBS's as well as chat venues where just about every other member is a "Guitar God"  "Synth adonis",  "God's gift to musicianship" etc.  It DOES NOT affect who I am, or what I can or can not do. Some of these individuals are excellent musicians that have a strange form of how they wish to express themselves in a chat venue, some really aren't very good -either way, If someone is truly obnoxious, and is doing something that indirectly rubs me wrong in lieu of what I construe to be an over-compensating attitude, or just a pompous attitude,  I find that easy to ignore, NOT feed into or fuel as many here have done regarding the "Bigdog" situation many find to be appalling. I've personally seen Bigdog DO NOTHING to directly attack ANYBODY in here without some degree of provocation or what can be construed as "defending his own character" albeit a character I understand many do find to be a delusion of grandeur, OR at least an inflated sense of who he might or might not be (for some reason I just find it to go with the "strange humor abounds" act inherently found in certain chat venues) I just don't understand why an individual many claim to be "nothing more than obnoxious" gets so deeply under your skin that you feel his behaviour (which to some just appears to be a person rolling with your punches) warrants his being banished.

Finally, Bigdog DOES exist.  A few of us he feels he can trust to not divulge his personal info DO know his real name and location, and have spoken with him.  I respect ANY individuals wishes to keep their anonymity on the internet for many FOUNDED reasons. Whether it's because they wish to gripe about their current employment without fearing someone on the sidelines that hates them seeking some sort've reprisal, or perhaps they just wish to take an opposing stance to certain points without fear of any type of retaliation, WHATEVER reasons they wish to keep a certain distance from others in an internationally open and visible forum; I feel a wish for anonymity is to be respected and not questioned, it's not an unfounded wish regardless of a persons online behaviour..and although I don't feel a need for anonymity personally,  in other forums I would.

Personally, I've found all of *MY OWN* interacting with bigdog enjoyable, although we often vehemently disagree with topics, bigdog DOES agree with what he believes to be reasonable, and similarly disagrees adamantly with aspects he feels to be wrong.  To be passionate, and even "arrogant" in a forum where you have an interest IS NOT something I believe that warrants an individual to be "banished".
While I don't know if a groups wish to banish a person actually supersedes administrations decision,  I strongly believe Bigdog has done NOTHING that warrants his being banished.  In fact,  whether some do or do not see it, Bidog dishes it out, and DOES take it too.  He rolls with your blows.

I could care less that he called himself the KAROKE GOD, and was unwilling to back his claims.  But when he touts that he is the KARAOKE GOD, and gives advice that is toatly wrong, proves that he is not.

Then there was the popping into threads, just to post off topic and get an argument going.  This got really irritating in the TECH forum.  Usualy people are there to learnhow to do somthing, and BD's drivel was a big distraction.

Once again, I did not call for the ban a BD, just called for everyone to IGNORE him.
