Anyone else notice that points are accruing under your avatar photo whether you are posting or not currently ? It's 4:00 AM and whether I post or not points are accumulating under my avatar. While I certainly have no complaints about this matter, It's a curious phenomenon. I started to realize something was very different when earlier (within a less than one day period) I had over 700 points to deposit in the bank. Even tho I tend to talk every now and then, I don't talk quite enough to accumulate the recent flooding of points that are seemingly dropping out've the sky
Let's put it this way. About 15 minutes ago I deposited ALL my points into the bank. I've posted perhaps one post since. Yet I now have almost 500 points

Hey you guys :)
Oh yeah, One other aspect of this. I DID in fact go into the banks global transaction area and nobody (visible) has donated these points. I got curious about this and noticed two interesting aspects of how it appeared to be working.
1) just randomly but steadily giving me points
2) Each time I refreshed the site I had one additional point as well.
Could this have anything to do with an experiment, and Phill withdrawing over 1,000,000 points from the bank recently, even a Secret Santa type gift ? - he mused

Jian, Perhaps. I did notice Phill took in excess of 1 million points out've the bank within the recent past. I wanted to thank the person that gave me points, BUT nobody *visibly* did. Naturally I won't say anything about this to anyone since it'd ruin the surprize (assuming what you say is the case, and this is a gift because in such a case, that'd make me the KS Holiday season '06-'07 party pooper and far beit from me to take on such a roll), HOWEVER, when Phill gives members points that appears to (at least in most cases) get noted in the global transaction area of the point bank. In this case, there was no evident gifting of points from Phill to myself. But still ! WHERE did those million* points go
::::::::::Getting binoculars, hiding behind couch, and secretly keeping shrewd eye on fireplace area watching for Phill to drop points down chimney::::::::
:::: Noticed points have stopped accumulating and I have a bunch of coal now :::::

Hmmm...
Steven - I was goofing around with some settings and well a few people may have acquired some additional points because of it... "Happy Holidays!"
I did change the Lottery settings - now Winners will receive 500 points for a 10 point ticket chance!
Also, looking into ways that people can use the points... All in fun no real value.
Yeah I have a heap load of points and a bunch more in the Point Bank!
You receive 1% interest per day but it charges 2% withdrawal fee!
Enjoy!

Yes Babs. I frequently deposit all my points into the point bank. Yesterday evening as well as earlier today (as anyone can see by accessing the point bank) I made a few large deposits. Those are the sums I was discussing in this post. As I mentioned elsewhere however, because I've accumulated so many points I have a principle amount in the point bank of over 50K, which means at the 1% interest rate I accumulate 500+ points daily just for existing and this will go up and up . This was the case prior to the recent points accumulated however.
So if anyone needs points, let me know. (or Coal). I only started depositing in the point bank within the past year really (at least I think that's the case), had I started earlier, and didn't end up donating so many points to members that wanted them, I'd have had a massive number of points.
As Phill pointed out, and Isis has been doing, it gets to a point where the only thing some of us can do with the points, is donate them. The quantity becomes superfluous. You can buy alot of color schemes and font shadows for 50K points

Thanks Phill. Like Sharon, I'll just donate them to those more needy.

Isis - I noticed that too. I win once in a great while, but for the most part it always seems like the same people. I buy into the lottery every week or just about. Do you do the same? I haven't seen you win in forever.

I never even knew about the lottery. I'd ask what it is, but that'd sound foolish.
So...
What's the lottery ?
ADDED IN:
OK. I just figured it out. Never even noticed "Lottery" title in the "Members Area". Show's how interested in gambling I am. I seldom play the lottery in real, however a few times when Powerball has been in the many-millions, well, that's a different story.

THAT would be fun ! In other sites I've noticed bars.. Of course since some here are underage, that might or might not be considered a good idea... Dunno.. How about some type of shop where folks can buy virtual items, or a toy store... Not just ANY toy store, but a virtual FAO Schwartz (or Hammacher Schlemmer) or whatever those upper end toystores are.

Don't feel bad Kappy - I didn't know what the bank was until you said something. I had to go look for it.
