Jesse sweet cheeks methinks thou dost protest too much and umm where is the chivilry? Tis dead and buried if you feel the need to kiss and tell after every imagined trifling scorn
Why if we werent such level headed maidens, Charmin and I might just get our Torsolettes in a twist, nevermind our Cammys in a conundrum

There will always be occasional paranoia and mean-spirited exchanges in the comments. It's a lot better than it used to be, though, since fewer people submit under the "C" category. Back when pretty much everything was "C," I tried to comment and rank on everything I listened to, and I'm a tougher grader than most, so if I said something that wasn't complimentary I'd often get nasty comments back. That doesn't happen much anymore, because people sub a lot more under "J" and lately "L."
No big deal. If people sub under "C" and don't like the ranking or comment I left, that's their tough luck. If they think I have no ear for music, fine. If they ask for my opinion, they'll get it; they're free to disagree.

We can also thank this one also for bringing us "Clay Potts", who has entertained us so grandly the last few weeks. Great singer...wonder who he really is!

In my responses I also made the assumption that the person who appears to be insecure or "paranoic" isn't involved in personal issues with Kelley. Meaning that comment regarding :listening alot to subs with some negative intent: was just seemingly "out've the blue" and not taking into account any existing grudges ? The concern/accusation was baseless and totally unfounded correct ?
Just checking since I know at times there's more than meets the eye of those of us who haven't been around SS much. Also trying to be totally fair in my comments.

P.S.S. And yes as far as i have heard it was not a grudge that prompted the statement.

Finding this highly amusing. Seems my latest sub has 289 (yes 289) hits since being up last night. Went from 22 to 289 in just the time this thread has been up. Coincidence I'm sure but couldn't avoid seeing the irony in it. News travels fast via PMs--could be some help involved! So those complaining, this beats any record in this area of achievement. There must be one really worn out clicker on a mouse somewhere. Photographic evidence on request.

Thanks, It's important to me to be as honest as I can be in here (and in real life) when I cast judgement. Especially since I haven't been around, haven't been in SS, but know how crazy SS can at times get.
These situations regarding any sort've etiquette are learning experiences for ALL of us. Me too.
There was an interesting thread about a year back. Sometimes people get in the habit of posting one submission after another, they just get in the habit of posting ALOT of stuff in Singers Showcase. Problem is ALL people have an ocassional bad day too, even a bad month, and sometimes we learn that performing online is not for us. The thread (about a year back) discussed how there are times when we get into moods, SHOULD NOT comment, critique, or even REPLY because we aren't feeling well, can't think objectively, and might say the wrong things in haste. Some of us have learned that these are the times we shouldn't even boot up our computers. Sometimes it's just best to realize that it's NOT a good time to send PM's, express our feelings etc, critique, or even say something we might end up regretting later. ESPECIALLY when we are feeling bitchy and our mind is stormy.. Certain mthings we might say during these bad mood periods aren't always so easy to retract. We are always fully responsible for what we say. (Of course when my account gets compromised that's different but we won't go there) LOL

Hey MJK ! Hope all is well.
I think this might've come up in a thread regarding the process of the true Critique. Either that or I was trying to explain why I usually drag my sorry @&& when I critique and do things slowly. When addressing another persons artistic works, there's a lot that must be taken into consideration. Same with comments and responses. For understandable reasons, whenever a person submits something on SS there's always some degree of ego involved. Often times a lot of it (whether a person admits this or not). It takes quite a bit of maturity to submit on SS, and graciously accept honest responses. Why people compete for rank eludes me. There's always people better out there. What matters is how YOU improve and do individually, OR in the case of those submitting for fun, how much fun you have...

Hi Steven: Hope you are well too....I know how analytical you are but thanks for being thoughtful. There's a bit more to this thread that will be left open. It is a facet of human nature that people will completely side with someone not knowing the full circumstances or the other person's side of the story.
By the way, did you ever get to listen to that Roby Lakatos? He's the violinist I sent you the web address for. I was curious what you thought as when we saw he and his ensemble in person a few weeks ago it was one of the most thrilling nights I ever spent in an orchestra hall (heck, anywhere!) Take care.

I recall mentioning to you I was going to listen either that evening, or right at that time, and like so much stuff that's been going on in my life, I ended up getting distracted and TOTALLY forgot. Thanks for the reminder. That's another thing I want to do soon LOL

Which is why I realized I was wrong in commenting without realizing there is always another opinion someplace, or at least three sides to every story. I should've at least prefaced what I stated with "Assuming there is nothing underlying this situation". I've once again learned something LOL ..
It dawned on me early today that I jumped where I should've watched.
Kappy #($&##$ up.. Even assuming what I stated wasn't incorrect, it was hasty.
