I am having MAJOR problems logging out...
when i finally get it to let me log out then i come back and it says i am still on ..then it wont let me in the forums..
so i have to go to a forum that it will let a guest user in...and try to answer a post ..after i try to answer then ...it will tell me i have to log in..(which i have repeatedly tried to do)...but at that point it finally lets me log in....
so .....i never log out anymore becuz i cant get it to let me back in....
i know that you all said you were having problems similar to this ...but is it my imagination or is it getting worse?
Ok...it is
11:52 am eastern time....i am going to attempt to log out...
bye for now....

They recommend clearing out the cookies or deleting them.

I wouldn't even worry about logging out. Pretty soon you'll end up spending half your life here like the majority of us do.

I can't say I have ever had that problem, but I also clear my cookies, history, temp files after everytime I use the computer. If you need to know how to do these things let me know. I just do it out of habit, so my computer stays clean and running well. You don't have to do it everytime. :D

Some cookies do rembere username/passwords/preferences for some website, some cookeis are used to track which websites you go to.
IF you have preferences personalized for a site like GOOGLE search, you will have to re-enter thoes preference becasue the preferences are stored in a cookie on your PC.
But it is safe to say that you can delete ALL your cookies without worry.

If you are concerned about completely logging out and removing your name from the 'who's online list' you should never just close down your web browser by clicking on the 'X' in the upper right corner. You will still remain logged in as far as KS is concerned. You'll still show up as being online for a long time even though you're not. Always click on 'log out' in the Member Area on the left side. That's my two cents worth anyway! :)

You can delete all cookies. I've done it for years. Go to tools - click internet options -
click on the general tab - where it says browsing history click delete and it will give you another window that will allow you to delete cookies, history, temp files, forms, password history etc.... or you have the option of deleting all. I just delete all.
If you don't have the same set up as me I can tell you how to do it through another path. :D
Or you can do like Odie said and leave your cookies - just log out through KS everytime.
It is good to keep your caches clean as not to bog down your pc though. Clearing the cache will allow your browser to function more efficiently. Using spybot and Adaware only keeps your computer clean of most malware, spyware etc... (Spyware is computer software that collects personal information about users without their informed consent.) I like to keep my temp files clean because a lot of spyware sets up camp in there.

One side note of interest, all song files that you listen to on SS are downloaded automatically to the Temporary Internet Files folder. The files will probably have the Windows Media Player icon and the file names will all start with 'ss..'. You should copy them to some other folder and then rename the files if you want to keep them.
