Man what's her problem. My goodness ! I love when people sing a long from the crowd. That's the ultimate. I wish everyone in the bar would sing a long with me. Now that's a party. so she pointed you out in the crowd and said something negative.
Bad KJ. That's no way to encourage people to sing. Not to mention embarrass someone for having fun. where is she - I'll kick her butt.  LMAO

You, know Babs, your last post reminded me of an incident that caused me to avoid a particular show, thereafter.  The KJ was singing "The Rose", one of my favorite songs to harmonize to, particularly at the end.

She was doing such I nice job and I got carried away and harmonized with her (something I would have not done to another singer) during the last few lines.

She, the KJ, was upset and made a snide remark regarding my efforts.

What do you folks think?

KJ full of ego thinking she is the reason for people being there!  Most hosts would invite you to sing with them if they heard a good harmony.

Her behavior was out of place and unprofessional. She is there to make sure YOU (and the other patrons) have fun.

I want a turn after Babs is through with her.

Ok, I'm gonna throw in my 2 Cents here. Here in my area the people feel that the rotation is not rotating if the KJ doesn't seperate one round from the next. If I am hosting a private party then I don't usually sing between Rotations however if I am KJ at a club then I will usually either sing between rounds or at least anounce that a new round is beginning with a little filler music behind me and acknowledge the Bartenders and make any other anouncements needed.

This is due to public demand here in the area and the way most KJ's here work so the folks seem to expect it. Personally I love to sing on my own gear and no body elses so I love a slow night when I get to sing quite a bit.

OK That the way I do it......
No Complaints and plenty of repeat gigs so............
John

I can totally respect that. It just goes to show you karaoke is run differently in other places, town to town, state to state, other countries. I like how you explained it.
