Edit:.... ok for some reason the winamp I tried got an error when I tried to install, But this os already has a mp3 player on it called XMMS....works fine too.

I dont see the need for winamp unless you just prefer winamp. This player on knoppix plays wave & mp3....and sounds great!  :D

Installed IE7 today, verified my windows, everything went smooth....till the reboot....lol......get the ol' message, worded a little different though, can't find the web page. I pinged my server, it was working, ran ATT tools, said everything is hunky doory.....still, IE7 can't find sh$%.......sent about a dozen problem messages to MS. I wasn't in the mood to mess with things, so I hit my restore, and went back to yesterday......who said you can't go back in time....woo hoo....maybe next time I should try disabling my Norton, though this shouldn't be a problem like it was in days of yore

Yup... The ultimate goal is using winamp or roxbox...

Im at a slow crawl now trying to do the base seup on wine (to run windows apps) . The second step is DCOM98  the wizard wants to download it from the interenet and dont have internet capabilities in this comp The only inet connection I have right now is WIFI and the laptop wont even boot on knoppix.. So I am here right now..

Trying to setup manually with the command line.  Im getting too old for this crap LOL
I really dont think I can run full blown karaoke with this yet but I do think its on the verge....And would like to be familiar with it when it does.... If there is any linux people here HELP!!!!

aaaaah!!! Thats what I figured...The karaoke side of things.  :hi5:

Well I hope someone comes along with an answer, because that would be interesting.
As for me I'll use my regular os for that, and use the knoppix just for playing around with....for now anyway. :D

Ok I see chuck started a thread just for this subject so maybe we will get some results there....I hope.  :)
