BD, I know I make quite a bit more than the "hacks." And I don't waste my time and the other people's time on this forum being a cry baby about it. If you can't handle it then get of the business. Personally I'm tired of your crying.
It sounds more to me that what YOU have going on around you is competition.

The best way to combat a hack is run a good show with good equipment, dah. If you are doing that already. What's the problem?
You have given several examples of how that has worked for you. Complaining about it on this site has gotten you no where, but it has managed to insult almost everyone. You have been told this several times. Either you enjoy the drama or you are a little slow on the up take.
My sentiments exactly!
Kicking a dead horse Bigdog? Take a break and come back when you can play nice.
Yes BD I am saying the you talk too much. Ironic? Yeah a little.

So...I guess you have not yet proven to the local bar owners that you are worth $300 per show? Oh, and let us know when you get someone to pay that $5K for lessons.

My newbies did exactly that. They now make $3,500 a month in less than 6 months. I'll put my money where your mouth is. The $5,000 they got back already and more. :worship:
Who did you ever teach to do anything, that worthwhile? NO B.S. Just fact.
Yes, I'll take the blue ribbon. :worship: :worship:
For someone that wants to start KJing, you should be worried about the hacks. They will keep you from getting jobs and getting the money you deserve.
As far as them being competition to me. They are but only because they hurt my chances of making all I am worth. They never took a job from me. I take jobs from them and charge more to do it. They only hurt me when a bar owner thinks the price for their crappy show is what we all should charge.

None of what you say can be proven. All we have is your word and you have given us no reason to accept that. Your arguements are far past the point of being old and tired.

Gigi, how much you making a month?
They are making the same money as me, after 6 months in business. I chose to work 5 nights a week. I could work 7 but I don't want to. If I had another system it would be working steady too.
Money talks, B.S. walks.
Chuck, no offense but you are not a working KJ, so why would you doubt anything a real working KJ would say? You have no validation to even be here.
If I was a ghost I would waste my time teaching somebody else. 14 years on top of my game and all of my competition, speaks for itself. Not to mention all of the CASH.

Verify this. THere is no reason for us to believe you. For all we know you might just be a teenager who hangs out with a KJ.
I didn't take offense. The reason I am here is because this website is for anyone with an interest in karaoke, not just KJs. There is a part for KJs only. I no longer am a member there out of respect to the current KJs.
Bigdog, you come here to mostly rant. I actually enjoy your more clever quips but ranting and raving is actually something to avoid doing. Keep it in perspective. If I can do it, you can do it.

Bigdog, I'd rather hear Chuck's opinion as a KJ that's starting out than yours! he used to do it a bit before and is now seeking advice on restarting it back up again!
What Chuck brings to the discussion are KNOWN facts. His name, where he's located, and if he had shows, those too.
Quote: Chuck, no offense but you are not a working KJ, so why would you doubt anything a real working KJ would say? You have no validation to even be here. Actually, until YOU post who and where you are and some FACTS behind your claims, YOU sir have no validation to be here. We've been patient, even understanding. Yet you hide behind a Nom de Guerre, and refuse to PROVE anything!
Until you do, you're nothing but another hack to me!

If your figures are indeed the truth, I am making more than you. Not by much, but some. I.T. work pays a decent living.
AND I get my evenings free to go sing when and where I please. That is one reason I don't KJ any more.

Okay, maybe I am missing something...do you define a hack based on income level?
Also, my company is hiring...are you up for some level 4 troubleshooting requiring a knowledge of PCs, cash registers, servers (Windows and Unix-based), wired and wireless LAN/WAN connectivity, basic cabling and electrical, voice over IP systems, with a smattering of electronic gedgetry thrown in?
I can train you for only $5000.

No... It's just that you seem to know so much about karaoke, I figured you to be making a killing at it. Not wasting your time with a piddly real job.
Besides I'm retired already. :worship:

Well if you want to base an income from hacks, I know some (as you would call) hacks that are pulling down over $2000 per weekend just doing private parties - no club work - 2 nights per week.
