True,  I've been known to get from point A to point B via a New York City Taxi ride. I do have a tendency to get somewhat wordy  LOL.  OK,  Now comes the hard part, going back "out there" when I'm having fun in here.

and a One, and a Two...

Catch you folks midweek or-so.

Nice Hijack.

A KJ should never sing.     Just play dance music and call yourself a DJ.    That should fix the problem. :O

Let's start a poll  "Should Bab's get a webcam for her show?"

She could get a site.  WWW.BABS.  The only competition for that link would be a Bed and Breakfast in New Zealand and Australia.  Her link would likely come up first

LMAO Yikes Kappy !! I think I should stick with my day job.

Johnny - you are to sweet. I'm just fortunate to work where a lot of good people and great singers show up. How about Pamela Saturday night. Isn't she amazing?

sorry we strayed Knightshow -

Johnny she isn't a profesional just an everyday karaoke singer like us.

Back on topic - I believe a good host has a feel for what people want. You can tell when people just want to sing and not listen to the karaoke host sing. When you have a busy crowd clamoring to get up and sing sooner and your rotation is an hour or more long why would you sing? Maybe to change the mood, but that is rare. Usually if I have a busy night they are already picking the kind of songs people want to hear or I can steer them in the right direction. But that is my bar.

I have mixed ideas on this.

All of our local KJ's sing, and I love when they do. They are all pretty good singers, a couple are REALLY good singers.... besides the fact that they are friends of mine, and I just.... enjoy it..... when they join in.

But I've seen nights of rotations being way over an hour long, when it kinda seems they should step aside. Being ONLY a singer though, I almost feel rude voicing that opinion. Maybe if they sing every other rotation when it's busy? Cause I almost hate to see them cut out of it. I mean after all, it doesn't shorten the rotation THAT much for just ONE singer to step aside.

.

Well lemme see here...the first time I was ever exposed to karaoke was at a hog roast/keg party...yes I AM a hillbilly, I though we had established that fact hehe LOL ...anyhow the folks having the party had hired a KJ.  Now most everyone was drinkin' but the alcohol didn't seem to be giving them the liquid courage to get up and sing, so the KJs did most of the singin'.  I wanted SO bad to get up and sing just so I wouldn't have to listen to them sing all night! LOL Well, I just wanted to sing too...but I was too chicken...hehehe...let 'em try that NOW  LMAO  Finally a few folks started drifting up to sing and after that the KJs didn't sing at all as long as someone else was waiting to sing.

Anyway I don't see anything wrong with a KJ singing...especially if it's slow.  I reckon if I was a KJ(which I'm not) I would step aside if it was REALLY busy.  I love to sing too but I would think my customers would have to come first.  Just my opinion.   :)
