Tomorrow is Veterans Day, please never forget those that have given so much for our freedom. Regardless of how you feel about the current war or trend in politics, do something special. Walk up to a vet, shake their hand and say 'Thank You' it means more than you will ever know, unless you've been there yourself.
Respectfully,
James H. Gilbert

I always get teary eyed when the veterans walk down the street in a parade. I get very emotional when it comes to the men and woman who have risked their lives for us. Here's to all our friends and family who have served and who are still serving. :hi5:

I'll start with the Vets who are on this website.
Thank you folks for protecting our right to be who we are whether you like us or not. You give us the choice to live the way we want and I will never take that for granted. To those who have payed the utlimate price for our freedom, I hope they understood when it was their time that we owe them everything.
Chuck

Justy is on parade tomorrow, so I get to see him in full dress uniform, which is rare for me:) I might walk over with sky and watch, but it is awfully cold here. This is one of my first years not playing at a big ceremony, or on parade actually. Skylah has donned a poppy for ages now, she is really into it all, and loves to stop people who are wearing them to talk about WHY they are wearing it. See ya,G.

Growing up, I knew my Dad was in the army, but it wasn't until I was an adult, shortly before he died that I found out he was in the Korean war. That, coupled with knowing how the vets were treated after the Vietnam War, made me resolved to the fact that I refuse to ever see a Vet mistreated or disrespected in any way. For a while, at the bar I work, we were getting several new returns from Iraq. I always made a point of making an announcement of accknowledgement, followed by "God Bless the USA" (which, in my opinion, should be the national anthem).
Thank you James for starting this thread.
And thank you to ALL our Vets, whether in war time or piece, for all your and your families personal sacrifices. They were not in vain!

From one who served from 1969 to 1973, Thank you for all who served before, who serve us now, and for all who will serve in the future.
