Alrighty, got one from Babs this morning from the great state of Illinois.
So that's Texas-2, Colorado-1, Tennessee-1, Alaska-1, Illinois-1, so we're up to a total of 6 entries so far, keep'em coming folks, like I said, I would like to get a possible total of 20.
thanks Babs, even though you didn't send me any pics. ;)
James

Hey gang, just wanted to bump this subject back up to the top, since it's been about a week since I've received any dipdots.
First of all thank you to all who sent them, words fall short in expressing my gratitude.
Secondly I just wanted to give a reminder to anyone else that may have just forgotten about it.
So a recap to those who don't feel like reading back through the whole thread.
What I'm doing is trying to give my brother a unique Christmas present.
I'm asking the folks here at the KS Forum if possible could they send me a dipdot from their local Harley Davidson shop. I know this may sound simple even silly to some folks, but remember it's the thought that goes into the gift is what counts. But sometimes it's the simplest things that mean the most to the person. So if it's something that you may think you want to do, please just drop me a pm and I'll give you my mailing address. All I can offer you at this point is my thanks and gratitude, but trust me every time I receive one of these from you folks, I sit back and think how truly blessed I am to have such good friends here at KS. Thank you for your time and for interest.
Respectfully yours,
James H. Gilbert

James..... I'll try to get to Tigard this weekend.... so's you can have an Oregon one too.

Yes, I did kinda forget, but I'll get up there in time to get it to you for sure.

You'll have to get a pic of him with them and post here. That's a cool idea, and I'm sure he's gonna love it.

I just want to add Dipdots are FREE. You just walk into the store and ask for one and walk out.

James, just a quick note to let you know I haven't forgotten, the Harley Shop here is changing store locations, and have packed the dipdots up already, but the new store should be opening soon. I should have it by the end of Nov.

It was funny I strolled into the Harley shop here and up to the counter.  Out of the corner of my eye I saw a young longhaired salesman give me a double take.  There was a young gal behind the counter with a lookin her eye Whats that ol duffer doing in here? I giggled and said I need a dip dot.. No problem... She reached in drawer and handed me one.. So then I told her the story about the guy on the internet trying to get one from every state for a gift.  She said Wow that would be neat The young salsman came strolling up Hey thats a hell of and idea! So I said thanks again and strolled out like I frequented Harley shops all the time.... LMAO

Blue that would be super cool. Oregon is just one of those places in all probability we would never be able to get to on our own. Just like when dsharrow sent me one from Alaska, I mean my brother would never in his wildest dreams expect one from either place which makes them all that much more special. Thank you so much.

Thank you Babs, yes folks they are indeed free and Harley dealerships will be more than glad to turn you on to them, especially if you tell them what it's going for.
My brother is a member of HOG (Harley Owners Group) and trust me the brothers are always willing to help out a fellow member.
Thanks again,
James

I WOULD help.... but, I have no idea how to ask for that in French......and NO ONE HERE SPEAKS ENGLISH..... you figure out "dip dot",  and I will go a looking;)

It is hard enough to order a coffee, let alone find a "dip dot"!

But, What a VERY cool present idea, very unique.

Thank you gahmc. My brother was able to do the Trail of Tears run which goes into the northern part of Alabama, but the time schedule of that run prohibits you from having any spare time to hunt down locals shops when you do the ride. So I know we will definitely be grateful to recieve anything from that state.
Thanks again,
James

What those younsters didn't at first understand but you and I know for a fact is that it's the old duffers that make up the majority of Harely riders worldwide. If it wasn't for the old duffers, Harley would have died a horrid death many years ago. Thanks for all your support man, I really appreciate it.

If by chance you do happen to go into a Harley shop, the best thing to do is walk up to one of the bikes on the floor. Go around to where the oil cap is and point and say 'dipdot'....LOL I'm sure they've heard the term before in all languages. And Gilly darling, all you would have to do is smile and those poor guys would let you walk out with half the store...LOL ;)
But thank you so much for the thought, if nothing else just send me some pics of your tats, I'm sure he would enjoy that just as much if not more than a dipdot... ;)
Thanks again,
James

Oh, man, I would have LOVED to do that run! Lord knows I want to. I bet it was a blast!  Maybe next year.  Did work keep you from going?

I'm down in South Alabama, we just did the Angel Ride last weekend. Had a blast. When they open the new Harley Shop, it will actually be closer to were I live, so I'll be practically living there when I can.

I wanted to go ahead and bump this up one last time. The holiday season is upon us and pretty soon as usual this time of year the mail will start backing up with xmas cards and such. If you want to send the dipdots and haven't done so yet, I guess now would be the time. Again much thanks to those of you who have already sent yours, I greatly appreciate your efforts and thoughts.

Without actually going and counting, off of the top of my head, I think we're up to about 7 or 8 dipdots, some folks sent two. Also Kellyoke sent me a Union City Fire Dept. patch, but that's going on my personal vest. ;) Most of the patches on my vest have been given to me by servicemen, both past and present, which I wear with great pride in supporting the efforts and lives that have been given to service of our country. The rest were given to me by my brothers of the road, with the exception of a few personal patches which I have had personalized. Examples would be my quote: 'I serve no man and am loyal to only one God', there were only two of those made for me and my closest friend. Then we did one for the 'Church of Latter Day Harleys, The Bikers' of which only 20 were made and of that 20, 12 have been distributed to special members of the Spring City Chopper Group which was founded back in 2004. Our Spring City Chopper t-shirts now in it's third print and design have traveled to all parts of the world, including Germany, England, Poland, Japan, Australia, sales of shirts have now exceeded 1000. :D

I don't know if I can handle him saying no to that question. Santa riding a hog.
