I am trying to get some opinions and information regarding Karaoke Builder Studio3

Is it any good?
Can it be used to change the words (lyrics) on existing bin files and/or adjust the pace of the lyrics as compared to the original file?
I can't seem to find clear directions for accomplishing any function it performs.
Does anyone know how to reach their tech support.  The e-mail link they provided didn't work for me.  They frown on phone calls and seem to encourage mail/post as a means of communication.

Any help would be appreciated

with something that new, lord knows!! You're better off trying to get them to help you. I've played around extensively with the first K.B.Studio, and loved it. Improvements and upgrades to me seem a waste of time! To me, the program does EXACTLY what I want it to do!

I did try their e-mail link again early this AM, and this time it worked.  I anticipate a reply some time today.  But let me ask you, since you have used the software, does the software allow you to take an existing karaoke bin file and change a word or groups of words in the lyrics.  Also, can the software enable me to re-do the pacing of the lyrics.  As you know, sometimes the "bouncing ball" (pace of the lyrics) is off.  So, for someone who doesn't know that song, some pacings are troublesome.  I'd like to be able to correct for that if I desired to do so.

yes, you can redo the pacing of the lyrics, and you have the option of correcting typed lyrics.

I DON'T KNOW about importing an existing .bin file. The answer is PROBABLY yes. As you would have to convert the .bin to a .cdg, and this promises making changes to ANY .cdg file! SOoooooo, my immediate thoughts are it will work.

Please understand... for WHAT I USE IT WITH, karaoke builder studio1 works just fine. I build my own tracks... not edit existing ones, unless it's one that I built, and then I always save mine... and if I need to, re-edit them.

There is a freeware program out there called "EDITCDG" that allows you to correct pixelation and color errors... don't think it'll do the whole sync thing, though.

Thank you for your response.  I've yet to hear back from Karaoke Builder support and by now, I'm sure, they've left for the day in the UK.

Of course, if the program can access the files I want to edit and they need to be in CDG format, I can use MP3G Toolz.

You can't import .bin files. the only files you can open are ones you made yourself from scratch and saved as Karaoke Builder Studio files.(.kbp)

Deosn't Dart Karaoke Studio (I think that's the name) do about the same thing for a lot less money?

not the "same" thing, but the basics... yes!

can that program ("dart") edit an existing bin or cdg file?  does it matter which version is involved (there are 2 or 3)

No... I don't think ANY program can take an existing .bin or .cdg file and edit it to see the .txt.

The only thing I've seen people do is create their own .cdg screens. A friend of mine did that for some earlier disney discs, and I did it for a pocket songs disc that had a Disney/Elton John song that didn't have the graphics due to permissions... and then I found it complete on another label like a month later! LOT of work to do it! ! Oh well!

yes, and that part is easy.

sometimes certain words draw out longer, there's musical breaks that the "tapping" on the space bar don't cover, so you have to manually edit it.

I didn't say it was horrific to do, but it IS about an hour's process, and you get sick of hearing the song. Also, without an original reference, you'd be amazed at how difficult it is to do a song you only "know", not know intimately!

I've STILL got one I bought from SBI, a backing track, that is a tiny bit different from the original, so it's giving me fits on where the vocals are on the last half of the song!

I've only made a handful, and each one is easier than the last, but it ain't no regular walk in the park... you have to dedicate time, and a lot of half-second attention to get the timing right, and then you're sick of the song by the time you're done!

It's been well over a week since I contacted tech support (in England) for the Karaoke Builder, and  I never heard back from them.  Considering that their software runs about 150USD, and tech support is unavailable, I'm really no longer interested in the product.  Perhaps Knightshow's last comment about getting sick of a song by the time the work actually did more to turn me off than any other factor?
