Karaoke Forums

Just thought I'd "properly" introduce myself. I've been quietly browsing the forums and listening to subs for several months now and am starting to feel a little naughty about it I'm kind of a cautious person so I wanted to get a sense of your little community here before making myself known. Everyone seems so genuinely supportive of each other.

A little about me: I'm a married mother of two boys. I was introduced to karaoke through a friend about a year ago and now I'm hooked. Like eveyone here, I've always loved to sing, although I haven't had any formal training. I just open my mouth and hope that something in tune comes out. I notice a lot of you have had some sort of lessons, and it shows. There is some tremendous talent here and from reading and listening, I feel I've picked up some great tips. One day I hope to work up enough nerve to submit a song. I'm still a little shy about singing at karaoke bars. I'd rather be in a more intimate karaoke party setting with friends.

Anyway, if you've read down this far, then thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to getting to know all of you, if you'll have me.

I was a little leary at first like you. Don't be afraid to jump right in. Leave comments for singers you have listened to, so people get to know you. I think you will be surprised at the warm welcome you will get when you 1st submit a song. Most of us do it just for fun. Don't be intimidated - You would be very surprised at how many people have stories just like yours.  :hug:

Thanks, Babs. I took your sage advice (of which I'll take any from a pro like you) and made comments on a couple of subs. Glad to hear I'm not alone in how I feel. I'm looking forward to meeting more of you guys.

Welcome aboard Tinker!  Enjoy the comraderie and take all advice with a grain of salt.  Most mean well but, always remember, we aren't perfect!  (Although BigDog has a different opinion on that subject.)

Thanks Songbird and dsharrow for the warm welcome. And dsharrow, thanks for your little tidbit of advice but am I supposed to take yours with a grain of salt too Just kidding. I'll keep my filter turned on. I know everyone isn't perfect here but they sure are nice.

Thanks, MorganLeFey. I'm having a blast listening and commenting over at SS. It seems that's where all the action is. Hopefully soon I'll get off my bootie and go buy a mic for the PC. I haven't even started to look into that. But thanks for the encouragement.
