I've often done my own little promos & karaoke parties.  Just good PR, if it cast me a few bucks, whatever.  People love free stuff, even if they are dollar store trinkets.  Don't dent my wallet much, I can afford to keep my regs happy & they do remember little things like that.

I think most people will be doing the Halloween thing with their Families on the actual day and there fore most establishments will do their partys as already stated.

Nothing wrong with holding your own Halloween Party and don't forget to play some good Halloween Filler music      oooo  NEVER MIND !!!!

100% Karaoke - without any REGULAR music is a tough PARTY STARTER unless you have the right songs and singers

There's a couple parties I'm going to, there's two bars having karaoke at Saturday,  so I bought 3 Slipknot masks that I'll trade in and out, and included I have some Slipknot karaoke tracks to rock on the mike.

My bar isn't doing anything for Halloween either. No prizes, give aways, drink specials, or anything like that. I have been announcing to my karaoke crowd, however, that I will be dressing up for Halloween karaoke on Saturday night and have been encouraging them to dress up as well. This worked well last year and about 75% of the bar dressed up.

Well if this Saturday night is like last years Halloween, the bar should look like a ghost town.     I don't mean spooky, I mean dead.    They never have anything for Halloween.   If it was some stupid sporting event you know they would not spare a dime.   It would be like a New Years bash.     Karaoke is not on the sign out front.  Hasn't been for 4 weeks now.   But guess where you can watch a new 52" flat screen TV with your favorite sporting event, on it. LMAO

TV doesn't bring in a lot of money, but we have a big one. (That karaoke paid for)

WE don't need to advertise for the weekly entertainment we pay for.   We just need to advertise the free entertainment.    TV...... LMAO  :O

We had our Halloween party Sat.  Great time, huge costume turnout - probably over 75% dressed up with a capacity crowd of 225.  Large rotation - aprox. 40-45 with no complaints - the best part!

Ours was on Saturday also - I think it was a pretty good crowd for us considering there was no advertising.

You guys will love this one:

The bar owner tells me to announce in a half an hour we are having a costume contest. This is the first I've heard of us doing a contest.  :O Okay I make the announcement - after the half an hour goes by I ask him if he'd like me to do it now.
He says " I don't think we should do it any more - wait to see if people complain"
I looked at him in shock!! I told him he has to do it, I announced it. He still wanted to wait. I waited and people gave him such a hard time about it I ended up doing it ten minute later.  LMAO UNBELIEVABLE - I think he had second thoughts about spending the money. $50 first place - $25 second place - $10 third place.

Then he tells me because of the time change I'm stuck there an extra hour. I said oh no if you want me to stay later you'll have to pay me. AGAIN UNBELIEVABLE !!
He didn't argue with me because he knew I'd leave if I wasn't getting paid.

I just came back from my no halloween party.   The place was pretty busy.   It would have been packed had there been a party.   They could have made a lot more money.

But what bar owner in their right mind, is in business to make money? :asleep:

Did they have their party on Sat?  How'd it go?
If the place was pretty busy, then there shouldn't be any complaints.  How would a party have made it any better on a weeknight?

Well the scheduled band broke up, so they had the free KJs fill in playing karaoke and dance music.  :O
