If Someone Handed You $10,000 Dollars To Buy A New PA System (For Karaoke) What Would You Purchase?... Or What Would Your Dream System Consist Of?

LOL....my system now cost me about $7500. I'm not sure $10K gets you a DREAM SYSTEM, it just buys you a really good small to medium club PA. There are more than a few KJs on this board that have $10K + in their systems now!!

I guess with 10K, I would stick with my current board (Yamaha 16/6FX), upgrade my BBE sonic processor to the balanced stereo version, upgrade to some Yorkville 15" mains and 18" subs with the amps to match. Keep my Numark 25G player, use my Yamaha 5000M amp and one of my Yamaha S115V mains as a monitor, have a 32" LCD monitor mounted front and center, add a DBX driverack, and rack it all up into one of those units that has its own wheels and tables.

There goes the $10K real quickly!!

Now give me $100K and I can build a dream system!!

How about a half-stack flying array on each side of the stage...High, mid, low, and sub boxes in a 4-way array....that'd be the shiznit.

I have that into my PA system & Players alone as well.  So I would probably get what I got already for $10K.

My dream system would consist of:

Mackie 1642VLZ Pro mixer
Eventide Eclipse Ultra Harmonizer - effects
TC Helicon Voice One Vocal Processor - effects
Yamaha SPX2000 - effects
4 Shure Beta 58 mics
4 dbx 160A Compressor/Limiters for vocal mics
dbx 1066 Compressor/limiter for system protection
BSS Audio FCS-960 dual 31 band eq for mains
dbx 231 dual 31 band eq for monitors
dbx AFS-224 Stereo/Dual Mono Feedback Suppression Processor on monitors
BBE 862 Sonic Maximizer - although probably wouldn't be needed at all.
1 dbx 223XL crossovers - for monitors
BSS Audio FDS-336T Minidrive Loudspeaker Management System 2x6
3 Carvin DCM2000 - 1 amp per sub (2), 1 amp for mids
2 Carvin DCM1000 - 1 amp for highs, 1 amp for monitor low
1 Carvin DCM600 - for monitor high
2 JBL SRX715 15" 2way cabs for most rooms / 2 SRX722 dual 12" 2 way cabs for large & outdoor
2 JBL SRX718 single 18" subs for most rooms / 2 SRX728 dual 18" subs for large & outdoor
2 JBL MP412 stage monitors.
Probably a good computer rack system for player, redundant backup, internal & external hard drives, BUILT, big RAM, memory on the video cards, pro audio cards inside!!!!

Of course my stage lights & dance floor lights.
Large Plasma Video Screens.

My Dream is $36,000 just for the speakers.

Tops:

Turbosound TA-890H - $12,000 each

Subs:

TSW-218 $5000 each

Amps:

5 total Tops are 3 way subs will require 1 amp per sub

Subs  CROWN I-TECH 8000 $7600 each

I'll get the rest of my dream system together at a later time. Phone is off the hook here at the office.

Dang!  Dream system?  You all forgot to include the truck to carry it from gig to gig!  I know it wouldn't fit into my Suzuki X90! LMAO

So add in about $23,000 +insurance, tags, tax for the truck!

Nah, an old cargo van will haul it all.  I had a system similar to the one I outlined - size wise anyway & It all fit in the back of a full size cargo van with plenty of room to spare.

In all honesty the 4 speakers and a 12u rack would fit very easily in my 12 ft trailer or any Ford Econoline van.

If I could afford a pro touring system for a a karaoke show What I listed it would be $67,000.

I would use 2 mixers:

Allen and Heath Xone 3d for beat mixing music and an Allen and Heath Mixwizard 3 12 channel.

Effects
2 TC Electonic Reverb 4000.

EQ
Empirical Labs EL-Q Lil FrEQ Professional Equalizer

2 New Toshiba Notebooks

6 - 1.6 tb External Harddrives

PCDJ DAC-3

That would be more than enough.

I would go to Wal-Mart and buy 200 systems and make all kinds of money.    200 KJs working for me.    I'd clean house.   All of my competition would surrender.   Who be the BIGDOG then? LMAO  :O
