first you dont combine the mp3 +cdg they are two seperate tracks. winamp with the correct plug in will recognise you have the cdg and play it as soon as you load the mp3 part of the song. you simply unzip the two parts into the same folder and you wont have to worry again.
secondly audiograbber does a very good job of ripping cdg disc to mp3+cdg it also will give you the option to rip to bin which is what you would need should you be making a copy of your original disc so as you have a back up
Hope this helps
Oh one more thing. If you have winamp and the appropriate cdg plug in you may like to look at sax & dottys which is a play that will play the zipped files without the need to unpack them. This saves on a bit of space :)

Or get autokdj which is freeware that intigrates itself into winamp's Media library and also puts zip control into winamp itself so you don't need an outside program doing all the work.
As for dvd karaoke, you can convert dvd to vcd dat files which are playable in winamp.   for $39 you can get VJRipper from www.clubdjpro.com to convert your dvd's into VCD.
