I don't understand something.
I'm not surprised. This topic was dead for five days... but you had to bring it back up!

If you let the nonsingers dictate how you run your karaoke show that tells me one thing and only one thing. Your karaoke show wasn't working. No amount of justification will hide that fact.
Math... that's how I justify my actions. Even if I had a
rotation from he!! of
sixty singers, they can't
possibly support a normal bar. Most places that have a NORMAL rotation of 15-25 singers, you HAVE to entertain the REST of the audience... no matter how you justify YOUR stance, or I justify MY stance, the simple equation is that in a karaoke bar, you'll have more non-singers (so regular supporters of the bar) than you will have singers.
Yes, in most cases, Karaoke does support itself. But when you have
ballad he!! night, or
headbangers ball or even
Hillbilly He!! , you'll have people getting up and leaving because of that. You as the guy or gal in charge HAVE to be able to adapt and change the pace. Mix music, and even dance music DOES just that. So does yappin' and acting like an entertainer, but most people get tired of that!

Call me a troll, say I don't exist, whatever but I'm sticking to my guns on this.
Good for you! I don't think anybody's saying you CAN'T stick to your guns on this. What we're saying is it's tiring to see repeated ad nauseum!!

But I am not buying one ounce of it.
whatever!

1 out of every five businesses fail within the first five years.
Sure they do. I was in business for 11 years in Portland, Oregon doing what I do best. Lonman's been doing it longer than that! THERE IS NO
ONE WAY OF DOING ANYTHING!!

Do not blame it on people wanting to dance. NON singers have been dancing at my shows for 14 years. They use to dance at your shows too. What happened?
Absolutely nothing. Unlike you, I'm open-minded and willing to try different things.

It sounds like denial. Plain and simple. Justifying it doesn't fix the problem. Admitting there was a problem is half of the cure.
Sounds like you're on the path of possible recovery. Let us know how it turns out!

Playing dance music is just a band-aid on an amputation. A bad attempt to hide the real problem. The patient is still bleeding to death.
You're not half as clever as you think you are! Let it go!

This has nothing to do with who's way of doing business is right and who's wrong or what works for who. Your karaoke didn't work.
Wait, I thought you said it's not about WHO did what??

Admit it.
Okay, I admit it... you're an idiot!

Something you were doing or not doing, didn't work. Nonsingers are not the excuse. Making money for the bar is not the excuse. Pure KJs still make bars money. Pure KJs still have dancers. Nonsingers still out number our singers. Just like yours. They stay all night, just like yours. They have fun all night, just like yours.
Again, never said it DIDN'T work for you and the "pure kjs"... but it DOES work for US - that is, those hosts and jocks that use other means of entertaining the crowds!

Denial.
you certainly ARE in denial! I agree!
