I need three ladies willing to lend their voices.  I've tried doing the song using just my vocals and it just doesn't sound right... at all.  The song is Lady Marmelade the newer version, I'm singing Christina's part lol unless anyone else wants it.  So let me know if you'd like to join me

No takers yet on this?  I'd love to try it with you, but I'm very new to the whole process of recording things into the computer.  Most of what I'm subbing is older stuff I already had as mp3s.  I have the equipment to make an OK recording, I think- except there's a lot of ambient noise where I record.

Also, and this is probably a bigger problem- I can follow karaoke when I know the song and harmonies really well.  But for Lady Marmelade I might need a musical line printed out.  Unfortunately, the side effect of several years in opera school is that I went from not reading music AT ALL to only sightreading, and now, I have virtually lost the ability to learn a part by ear unless I'm drunk.  And even then, I'm not really sure if I'm learning by ear or just slurring through every note there is, thereby increasing my odds of hitting the RIGHT notes now and again.

My ear used to be SOOOO good, too.  Young singers, if you learn to sight read, don't forget how to learn by ear!  You won't be happy.  You'll end up drinking yourself into an early grave trying to learn by ear again.
