Check this out folks, this is Cecilia Bartoli....I don't know much about this type of music, but this just totally blew me away.......She makes some funny faces, and I don't understand a word she's saying, but the control she has over her voice is almost not human.... .....

You've got a wonderful voice too!
It looked to me like she was trying to retain so, so, so much air inside, to keep doling out or portioning out, yes with incredible control...I could tell her torso was just ballooned to the max man.

Wow !! I kept catching myself opening my mouth while she was singing.
I think my brain some how wanted to help. LMAO
She wasn't even out of breath when she was done - amazing.

Now THAT would have been funny to see, I'm picturing it now. LOL
Was that, um, singing? :D I have never listened to much of the stuff. And I don't speak that language fluently, but I'm pretty sure on that one part..... she was immitating a banty rooster. :D

Technically this is great! But personally I'm torn between applauding wildly and laughing wildly! That's my problem though. When it comes to opera and classical singing I'm a hick and lack culture! Unfortunately, "never eat or listen to something you can't pronounce" is sometimes my philosophy!!! LOL

I really don't enjoy the opera much. I can appreciate the dedication
to learning the skill, but it doesn't appeal to me. It is almost like they are training their voices to a mutation of vocals. The male voice is much more pleasing in that
style of singing I think. I'd like to see one of the 3 tenors do that song. Now that
would be funny.

Yea, I hear ya... ...I don't listen to this type of stuff on a regular basis or anything myself....I do know that most of the stuff she does is from the 18th century, so apparently this type of singing has been around alot longer than the Stones or Whitney Houston... ......either way it's very impressive to me for some reason, I bet she would be cool to see live....looks like i'd have to rent a tux though, doesn't look like jeans and a Sabbath t-shirt would go over too well......

I am not much into this kind of music, but I watched this and you're right, she is really and truly amazing. The dress she's wearing looks like it could restrict her breathing, but she's got it down. I heard another one by her...and she's singing to me, hehe. It's called "Hai Luli" and I was just mesmerized by her performance. She took me into her world....

After listening and watching this, I'd like to hear her perform Surfin Bird...
