Thanks Sharon, I already forgot I put that there.
I had to cut MSG out of my diet for more immediate health reasons. I didn't want to wind-up in the ER again. Since then, I've lost weight, and don't need my cholesterol or blood pressure medicine anymore. Cholesterol came down from 249 to 199.
Those results were anecdotal. If I didn't have to give up MSG to stay away from the hospital, I would still be drinking my softdrinks and eating all the stuff I used to eat. I honestly wouldn't care. If cigarettes had the same immediate affect, I would find it much easier to quit smoking too.
The funny thing is that a lot of the heart healthy stuff is the worst for MSG.

Many of the large post numbers have been accumulated my mind numbing banter. Not to metion that old song listing thread.
I state on many boards it's not the quanity of post it is the quality.
BTW: I love MSG! It makes everything taste better.

Sorry Liquiddye - some of us just like to visit sometimes. We are trying
to accomodate the people who don't like this sort of thing by putting O/T
(Off Topic) in the heading of the thread, so people like you can avoid it. Isis
and chuck came up with the idea. It hasn't quite caught on yet, but we're trying.

I don't know about the old song listing thread...Hmmm??? I may need to find it...
I can say that I have made some life long friends from this board. Many I have now met in person and I cherish the friendships. Some of us may banter sometimes but conversations tend to go that way....And I have never gone for quantity. I don't care how many post I have....And I try very hard to be thoughtful when posting.

OMG, that's a good one for a bar. Kinda like the "Dew Drop In" on that old TV show.
One of the funniest I've seen, there is a hair salon just outside Missoula, Montana called "Curl Up and Dye". I always thougth that was kinda cute. :D

Is there a Hall of Fame (or shame?) that goes along with this? I need to get in shape for a big push. I think I can do 40 posts a day for about two weeks. That should get me closer to making the big time.....

I use to go to a bar in Lakeland FL called the Wander Inn, of course you wandered in and then staggered out.

Not sure about others feelings. I personally find it pathetic that a person can have such an empty life enabling him to post this kind've quantity on one site alone. Lord only knows how much time this blathering fool is spending typing his inanity on other sites in addition to time squandered in KS. I don't know this person, hence I shouldn't be casting such judgement, but I'd venture a guess that this is some older person with dementia and a computer typing from a residential home someplace. Can you folks imagine what kind of person evades conducting his real-life opting to fill sites such as this with banality ? Thank God for losers such as this ! Because whenever I think my own life is heading downhill, I use comparisons such as this, to remind myself that there are others worse off than myself.
You have to feel sorry for such a lonely soul so desperately seeking attention !

They tightened my "braces" so I don't post like I used to. Many are happy to see fewer posts from me and I can't blame them, I am too.
I will start looking for a forum soon where such banality is welcome, website where fun is actually allowed and not just advertized.

On a more serious note. Who's business is it to judge the quality/quantity of other individuals posts, assuming such content is amicable and the individuals posts directly relate to the friendships nurtured in here ? What would make my 7K posts less significant than the member here that's posted under 500 posts in three years assuming the person posting lesser content posts a higher percentage of diatribe, condescension, and whining content ?
What makes the talker enjoying himself (or herself) at a party any less of a contributing individual, than the individual standing in a corner with a chip on his shoulder ocassionally opening his mouth merely to spew negative content such as "you folks are boring me" ? Perhaps I'm missing something here, however most that post what many deem to be "superfluous crap" are enjoying themselves at this party ! Remember, there are quite a few that get something out've this site, however if a few enjoy sitting around shooting spitballs at those enjoying themselves sobeit. Plenty can be said regarding the "whiners" with a lower post content too.

Thanks Steven, I was thinking the same thing but hadn't been able to express it.
Some do like to shoot spitballs. If that's what they call fun, cool. Just don't hit me in the eye.

Plenty can be said regarding the "whiners" with a lower post content too. I totally disagree. I could point out thread after thread where SOMETIMES You, me and many others have posted entire days worth of crap that didn't accomplish anything, other than to be a bit of fun to read.
The problem isn't the post count, the time spent on the site... it's that there isn't an area other than the "tech" area where such fun can be spent. The general discussion thread was where people "years ago" went to discuss karaoke related functions. But the influx of the newer members turned that discussion bboard into a total area for fun. I mean, having a thread strictly for telling people "goodnight"??!! GIVE ME A BREAK!
When there is THREAD after THREAD of you guys just being silly to each other, and others are coming on here scrolling thru the nonsense, it's just a ridiculous amount of time wasted.
If that's what you guys want, fine. I don't mind an occasional wandering down the unknown, just b.s.in'. There's nothing wrong in that. But Steven, you know as well as I that when you get so many posts up in just a few months... that's rather silly! And you don't do it on just one thread, but MANY threads. I've seen threads hijacked that actually were trying to show people something.
The actual truth is, there are some people on here who don't work (retired, on disability, etc), so they have time to play. And more power to them.
I just wish that we had a specific area where yes I could go play, and then YES where I could go and discuss karaoke! Not just KJ stuff... I want to hear input from the SINGERs perspective as well.

Somebody has to have the most posts. Karaoke is very much a part of many people's lives so it's not surprising to see people that spend a lot of time in here. I wasn't criticizing, just talking (writing). I spent a lot of time in here until recently and then stayed away for three weeks. People who have jobs where they can do their job and be on the net have all the reasons in the world to spend time in here. It can be fun at times. My sense of humor might at times be taken as criticism but it really isn't. (I mean...who cares what anyone has to say about how many posts someone makes?) Sounds like that would be a personal problem. It's funny that you don't sing though......heh heh! I had to add that at the end. Don't feel like you need to respond. That's just me being me.....

So were you looking for technical info under the goodnight topic? That was probably a mistake. Everyone reads what they want to. There's no rule that you have to read everything written in here. Now THAT would worry me more than 7500 posts. Reading some of the stuff people write in here would come under the topic of "waste of time". I don't think she started that topic under the Technical Forum did she?

In karaoke you have filler music, In a karaoke forum we need that equivalent, either wise we have dead air. So those 'useless' posts do have a role in the forum.

Very true. You can only talk about your equipment so much. At least that's what my wife says.
