Ok, I feel dumb asking this, but, I just bought a bunch of SC cdgs off ebay, and I am trying to get my computer to read them? I dunno, I have burned with my cd player, and played sgb, legend and others. This one just pops up a screen that says thank you for your cdg purchase and that is all. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

Have you tried playing them in your Karaoke machine to see if they even play yet?
Might want to see if they even play before you start trying to burn them.
Start with point A and then we'll work on point B.

I could be wrong, but sounds to me that Sound Choice has found a way to prevent copying their cdgs, trying to prevent illegal burns...

Does your cd rom READ cdg's? Not all do!
Do you have a karaoke program that will read cdg's? I prefer to use MTU Video Hoster, but there are others that will do the job for cheaper. Others can help you a bit better on those programs.
Sound Choice discs - within the last few years, have the interactive splash screen that pops up when you load the disc in. SOME of the discs had a copy protection called MediaCloq that prohibited use in any computer player or computer chip based DVD players.

ok so I figured it out, I had to rip them to the computer first, then play them. So I used audiograbber but it will not find the song names and artist, only list them track 1-15 or whatever it is. Is there any other programs out there that will do this? Thanks again!

the database probably hasn't been updated yet... it's very unreliable for karaoke cdgs.
Two things... either manually rename them, or get kjpro, and install the autoname program which is an interface with it.
Pretty expensive option, to be honest... I'd just manually rename 'em!

At the KJpro site, they also have a database which you can look up the disc as well.
Also you may want to try Karaoke Song List Creator, I know the data base for it was upated through Sept.
Or you can just go to the Soundchoice data base and look them up as well, that is unless they are older disc and no longer carried by them.

well, the sc site only shows the discs and tracks and artists, but not in ORDER on the disc! best bet is to stick with sites that DO show track order... kjpro.com does that as do some of the retailers!

www.kjamp.com has a free ripper that has a database built into it and is also compatable with KJPRO's database as well as Music Book Deluxe.

So is there a way to point audiograbber to this site to grab the names?

KJAMP will let you rip your CDGs to MP3+G zipped format, so you don't have to use Audiograbber.

it seems the only program that wants to read it is audiograbber.

CDRWin WILL rip a multi-session disc (which is what the SC discs are... the media PLUS the program that does the pop-up), but you can't do it track by track, instead you have to go into the tools and do it that way.
Audiograbber is by far the easiest to use.

One point to make... the audiograbber database link MUST be activated to see the disc. It won't automatically do it the way the windows media tries to do it, etc. So pull up the ol' dancin' penguins and see if it connects. Sometimes it does!

KJrip uses either the database built in or Kjpros or Musicbook Deluxe.
You have to tell it where the database of either kjpro or music book deluxe is. the default was created using databases from users of Roxbox so it may not have all the discs that are out there, which is why frank made it compatable with kjpro and music book deluxe.
