That really sucks!!! I hate to hear that.  If it's any consolation the DFW is really hot on jobs right now.  If I hear of anything I'll let you know or give them your number.

A man employed is tied to a job that he may or not like.  Destiny or your soul throws a fork in the road to enable one to travel the road  necessary for the next lessons...Sit under a tree for 30 minutes and think... Then you will know whither thou shouldest goest...

I'm sorry to here you lost your job. It sounds like it came as a surprise. That is
the worst. But now you have new opportunities in front of you and that can be exciting. I think if a squid can sing there isn't much else you can't achieve. Good luck!!

I been looking at fed jobs close to you.

Temple Texas VA has several openings for electricians....18.32 to start.....once hired you qualify to transfer to any job in the agency nationwide.....Gotta get your foot in the door first....We pay our electricians here at my VA 27.11 to start...gonna hire 4 in next year...all the old farts are retiring so we need new faces.

After the Navy I started at VA washing dishes wearing a paper hat 16 hr/week for 10 bucks hour....just a few years later I'm in engineering full time with plenty of overtime...averages 35 bucks/hour now + ridiculous bennies, an 8 hour overtime shift is almost 450 bucks....They match the first 5% of my pay that I stash in the stock market tax free, so I dump 20% in there and suck it up....I'm working on my third retirement check, Man!...Four if you count my stockmarket investments.

Get your foot in the door at any federal agency and then use your GI bill for your degree......Five years from now you will be driving a Viper and tossing panties out the open top......Trust me :D

Dave, sorry to hear about your latest news.

Sharon is up to date on what people want to see on resumes these days just in case your not.

Rich is in good with the head hunters and his company. Gayle tells me that the market is pretty good right now for jobs too.

If I were you I would definitely look into what Keith was saying about government jobs first.

Dave, just.......scrap all these "new job" ideas.

Come to Oregon, we'll be unemployed together. We can karaoke 6 nights a week right here in my town
...and sleep in late, :brows:
...and then play on the internet all day. (it's pretty habit forming........)

:dancin:  :hi5:  :oh yeah:
