Did you know that a 20 amp breaker will only support a single 2400 watt power amp if the amp is at full power?
Amps X Volts = Watts
So therefore,
20 amps X 120 Volts = 2400 watts max load on the breaker.
But most 120 volt outlets have only 15 amp breakers, then all you can pull is 1800 watts from the wall. You see how quickly we can trip a breaker with our gear when loud?
So yes, I can see too how a 1000 watt microwave could trip the KJ fersure.

That is the problem with a 120v supply. We have 240v as std. and a 12amps socket give more juice. Even more if it is a 15 amps.

Update: I went on-line to check the inventory of a store locatated about 30 miles from me. (It's a national music store, not listing the name so I don't upset the mods.) Anyway, I found a rack that I felt I would be satisfied with, and e-mailed them to see if they had it in store. I recieved an e-mail from them within a few hours, was told they didn't have that particular one in stock, and they offered me one with the basic features that I wanted, costing almost twice as much as the one I requested, letting me have it for the price of the one I asked for. I couldn't find a picture or any information on-line for this particular rack, but decided to drive down there and check it out.
This new rack rocks!!! The perfect size for what I wanted for, has all the features I absolutely wanted, and they did honor the price.
Thank you all for the advise and support. I did enjoy the additional tips, and believe they will be of value to alot of us.

Keith, I can honestly say in 14 years I can remember 3 breakers tripping. That is the least of my worries. I know what you are saying though. One outlet I use, usually has a standup fan plugged in and running. I'm quite sure this isn't a dedicated circuit. There has to be something else on it.

:O :hi5:
How many amps does one cassette player and a MR. Microphone use? Just hope nobody takes the lyric sheet.
