I don't know what I'll do if I have to hear one more person mention that same old boring subject again. How much more can we, as people endure? When will it end.

I shall write my congress person first thing Monday morning. He/she may not be very responsive after also being belabored by the subject but must act accordingly if he/she wishes to be re-elected by me.

Nothing anyone can say will change my mind. Please don't try to change my mind. I have to do something about it.

I've had enough and I won't take it any more. This is the last I will say about this as it sickens me to no end.

Hi.

Please forgive my rant in the previous post. This is something I feel very strongly about.

I let this go on as long as I could but it didn't get better on its own so I had to take action.

I hope those of you who read this will understand. :)

Sick of WHAT? Jesus, you go off, and don't even mention the subject.

People need to stay ON TOPIC, and when you create a NEW TOPIC, it would be helpful to MENTION the previous topic you're talking about!

Jesus in a friggin' SIDECAR!!!!

You know Chuck you're right!  I can't stand it when people can't stand up for those who can't take sitting down what other's take a stand against!  Especially those who are too weak in the knees to stand in the first place because they're afraid to take a stand!  Sheesh, what's this country coming too or going away from or about to run into anyway?!!!

i agree with odie!  i propose we make a stand and organize a sit-in to stand up to those politicians who always seem to be sitting on the important topics.  i, for one, refuse to kneel and grovel in front of the corporate machine any longer!  if they think i will just lay down they've got another think coming!  i will not, however stoop to their level.  i will bend over backwards to make this sit-in decision stand up!

I'm not sure what Chuck is pizzed about but I can tell you what I am pizzed about.

I'm tired of people saying they have the best show in the world and the rest have sub par shows and are not true to Karaoke.  Everyone that I know very well on this site advertises their shows and is proud to say where they are gigging.  I feel that if you are going to talk the talk then you should let some of your peers come see the show and them decide if it is a good show or not.

I also feel like in different areas of the world, country, state or county...etc... there are different ways that karaoke is run. It is very different in Japan and Hawaii and in Texas.  3 totally different ways of doing this.  Yet it works and the definition of a good show is really to be in the eye of the observer not in the eye of the person putting on the show. What you think is good, the crowd may deplore.

I have sang from the west coast to the east coast and from the north and the south.  I know things are very different everywhere and it just depends on what the people in your area like.

Attack me if you will but this is my opinion and I have a right to it.  Just as you have a right to your opinion.  And beleive me I think everyone on this site has heard the other opinion and we don't need to hear it again.  We understand (or at least I do)  and I could possibly respect it if it wasn't shoved down people's throat over and over again.

Bend over, we'll try the other end.     LMAO

Nothing personal....Just a joke. LMAO  LMAO  LMAO

My post on Dance music is my opinion.     You have yours.

Some of the rantings of "KJs" (thousands of posts) that have never done a gig yet are the funniest. LMAO

One of us will turn out to be right.   Time will tell.

It has nothing to do with who is doing it right or wrong.   Read it again, til you fully understand the implications of your actions.   It has to do with the long term out come of karaoke.    And possibly the future of your karaoke business.

Short term, you are still making money.   I feel that you are seriously putting your future income in grave danger.    The stability of your karaoke credability is on the line.    Bar owners will look at you as a DJ more than a KJ.     Sure you can deliver a good dance crowd, I'm looking for a Good KJ.

Your singers will look at you as the KJ that now plays more and more dance music.   That is what they will tell the other karaoke singers looking for places to sing.     It's your reputation, they are talking about.    Reputation gets the jobs.

So I'm nuts.

I just figured this out.   I have personally done over 3,600 shows.   Set up, tear down, play the songs and sing and entertain the entire crowd.     That doesn't count the total number done by my company, when I was running 3 systems.

Anybody else want to come close.    I know there are a few, but a hand full will be all.

No dance/filler music.   Total karaoke.

Go ahead tell me all about karaoke. :worship:

Give me a really good rant.   LMAO  LMAO        :worship:  :D

I'm all ears.

Big Dog, we'll listen if or when you will let us know where you play so we can judge for ourselves.  BTW my partner has over 4,800 shows under his belt and everyone is welcome to visit.  We don't hide.  I say if you're going to talk the talk then walk the walk.  And from where I sit you're a long way from walking.

Total for my company is 5-6000.

I don't care if you listen or not.

My company and it's reputation for quality karaoke remains as strong as ever.     I still work steady.     Keep playing all the dance music and I'll have to build more systems, to handle the upcoming "Karaoke" demand.

4800 that's 1 a week for 92.31 years.
2 a week for 46 1/2 years.
3 a week for 30 1/2 years.
4 a week for 23 1/2 years.
5 a week for 18 1/2 years.
6 a week for 15 1/2 years.
7 a week for 13 1/2 years.

Is that about right? :worship:

This is exactly what I'm going on about. Posturing, the attitudes in general.

all that tells me is that you have waaaayyyyy too much time on your hands.  you have nothing better to do than sit around and figure out how many shows you've done and how much better you are than everyone else?  an estimate of number of shows i've done is in the neighborhood of 1500, not even half as many as you, but i wish there were a KJ-Off so we could all get together and settle on the field so to speak.

I don't mind hearing your opinion on any subject, but I really only need to see it once unless it changes.  Instead, I see it once a day at least.  this is why i no longer bother to click on any topic you've started.  I'm sure you're a nice guy, but give it a rest.

I actually started this thread just to be silly. I left out anything to rant about on purpose.

This thread was for fake ranting only.

Gee, Big Dog can use a calculator.  He's been in business for 16 years as a single op averaging 6 nights a weeks with highs of 9 shows a weeks low of 4 (very short term of that less than two months), working 52 weeks a year without a holiday.

Unfortunately Big Dog can't read as I said it exclusively karaoke.

Big Dog is also a Big Chicken as he's afraid to let anyone here to visit his show.

Now isn't that just about right?
