Please, next time you are drinking heavily (i.e., have been sucking on a leak in a waterbed filled with cheap wine), don't come on here and make a fool out of yourself and inflame and anger people. You know who you are.  You can disagree with someone without resorting to below the belt tactics and just downright scummy, twisted and sick remarks. This just makes good sense if you want to come back the next night and not worry about what it is you said.  It's one thing to make a real idiot out of yourself and know you are doing it at the time but it must be awful to wake up the next day and realize you've just alienated a slew of people. I for one give up forgiving a certain person on here who when drunk is one of the most loathsome creatures on earth, and being real, this is the same person when he's sober--it just comes out more easily being inebriated.  Thank you.

Yeah, I for one dislike judging people... to me, it's far easier to ignore a person if they really get on your nerves - to talk to them via a private message, rather than alienate them, or get the whole site against someone.

You can't tell a drunk not to drink (and then do actions when they are drinking) anymore than you can tell a person not to be  blunt or an a-hole when they are like that. You can't tell someone not to be dyslexic or bi-polar or ADHD... you have to either deal with it or not.

We as a society have people that are racist, sexist or just flat-out "meanies"...

Puhlease. This person you're talking about has FAR worse demons than some persons on a website that get irritated at the drunk and his actions.

As a recovering alcoholic I know about those...you see, I have my own legion of demons too , but never treat people like that one did me and others in this forum.  That is no excuse--if anything it will give him the idea it's okay for him to drink and behave the way he does.  Thanks.

Well I for one am glad that the thread in question has been removed.
If my response to particular post offended anyone, I do apologize.
It was a heat of the moment response. I just really get tired of playground bullies thinking that they can come on here and treat everyone they way they do, and somehow in their minds justify their comments.
Again my apologies.
Sincerely,
James

Maninblack, I've always found you to be respectful and able to make observations and comments without resorting to some of the nastiness appearing here earlier this morning.  I think all would agree with me.

Now that I think about it novocals, you did mention something about waking up in Pittsburgh with an inflatable doll at Ed and Ida Stapp's Journey's End Motel...you mentioned something (I think) about craving fried liver and onions and a broken cigarette lighter--or something like that.... :D

Thanks Michael. I have been known to rear back my ugly head and rip through certain simpletons in the past. But reflecting back on my comments, I think I was just pretty much stating what has probably been obvious to folks here for quite some time.
So it was never my intent to provoke, or misuse the boards for my personal opinions of a certain person, but sometimes you just have to say, enough is enough, and call them out for what they are.
I think I would have been in a better mood though if my new machine of less than a month hadn't bit the dust in the middle of a show last night. Needless to say I was in a pretty foul mood myself when I came home. Thank goodness I had a backup machine.
But when I read the thread in question, I guess it just pushed over the edge. So we'll call it a 'momentary lapse of reason' :D

I didn't say it was an excuse or that I excuse them... I just don't judge them the way some folks do. Personally, I found the way this thread was started was kind of a mild slam without being one. I mean, the topic starter was talking about ONE person without ever mentioning ONE person. I hate that whole PC attitude, as it applies to everyone, but we really know who you're talking about. We just won't mention YOUR name, and therefore YOU won't get all uppity about it as we didn't mention YOU.

They do that at the office, and it drives me batty. You know, dammit, if I did something wrong, f*n accuse me of it  and let's get over it, and move on down the road, instead of playin' all these silly politically correct games.

Yeah, that was just a mild slam, I should relax.  I think I'll start posting fat jokes....

Oy yikes, I'm awake now.....

Michael, it wasn't ME was it?

Muahaha..... just kidding. I was home & sober last night.   Spent my evening creating a karaoke song book.  :D

Sorry to hear of that. I can see how it could happen tho. I've jumped on here tipsy before, after a night of karaoke and booze. But thank heavens I've never done (typed) anything drastic. Something to think about. Whatever it was, I missed it..... but no, things like that shouldn't happen here. But again, doesn't surprise me. We are a group of people who basically...... head out to bars every weekend night.

Oh.... and G'morning everyone. (Good noonish, whatever.... )  :D

Hello Charmin...you are right, that booze can be mighty loquacious when it sets it mind to it!

Well here's a post that doesn't apply to me! LMAO

Fortunately or unfortunately I have never been "drunk".  Dang booze doesn't seem to affect me like others.  I had some 'friends' that tried to get me  :drunk: a few years back.  $150 later they gave up.  A counselor in the Army called me a 'natural' alcoholic (I had a scheduled meeting with him when a fellow officer learned I had been drinking 1/2 gallon of whiskey  :yum: a night without realizing it).  I can't lose control, always remember, retain coordination, maintain equilibrium, never had a hangover, etc.  I'd really like to know what a 'buzz' is.  Oh well, guess I'll just have to live vicariously through the posts of y'all. :oh yeah:

While we're on it, even during my worst drinking days (I stopped years ago) I was the most charming drunk you ever met.  It  was the hangovers that screwed me up royally, let me tell you! Don't know how many mornings I shambled into work looking and acting like "Munko Junko, the Garbage Heap that Walks like a Man".....don't miss it.  Hell, even someone using the pencil sharpener made me wince something awful...

You don't drink anything? Oh come on, water? Must be something? I knew somebody that never drank fluids.  She looked like a Raisinette crossed with a Slim Jim...used to have to check her face in baggage claims at the airport...true story.

We don't need to be PC around here all the time, but on the other hand you can not just rattle off obviously rude, bigoted insults and rants either.  This isn't Andrew Dice Clay's playground or something like that!!

Stopped drinking July 5th of this year (my 50th birthday) and I have to admit, some days I am very tempted. But I made a promise to myself and another someone in my life, that I would try and turn things around. At this point in my life, I'm way to busy with Karaoke to even think about drinking or hangovers. During the upcoming week,
I will perform 4 days in a row. Two of them are private parties, the other two my regular weekly gigs. Too much responsibility to throw it away over a drink.
Drinking for me is like popcorn, once you start it's hard to stop, so the best thing to do is just not start. I don't have a holier than thou attitude about it, it's just not for me at this point in my life.
