The Analogy

One of my nephews in Denver has a basement full of the latest laser wood working machines. It wouldn’t be hard to walk into a shop like like that and start building beautiful cabinets. Then I think of Grandpas carpentry tool box.. It was one of those about 3 feet long with slots on the side for a cross cut and a rip hand saw.  Inside was various squares wood bits for a hand hurdey-gurdey  planes draw knives and the old folding measuring tape and various hammers.. He had used this for building barns chicken coops and homes that were built with love from the ground up…

Now I ask you.. If you wanted a custom home built didn’t care about the time or cost involved who would you hire? The expensive machines or lack of experience or knowledge of the basics would not handle the unknown factors which might be encountered during construction. I would want a carpenter that knew the difference between a rip saw and cross cut and knew the very basics of carpentry.. I have seen cabinet shops in Italy that didn’t have a power tool in them…But after all my grandpas experience he could make the laser machines sing….

It is the same with sound systems or any other thing that involves getting the most out of what you are working with… Learn how to get the best sound out of cheap home systems. Learn what different systems are capable of and how to cheat and get the most out of them… As your experience and knowledge expands then buy more expensive and better…Its like somebody getting into an indy car and driving over the speed limit…You might think you are a pro but the pros would tear you up…

I know everybody here means well and says oh you want this and you want that but they are taking away a learning process and right of passage that will make you a real sound man in the end…Let me tell you a secret .. I can make a home or inferior system sound better than their expensive pro setup…Simply because I know the difference between a rip saw and a crosscut and know how to measure and do things the old fashioned way They made music for years with no electricity and a million watts and we can still do it….

And if you dont know how to cut up an elk or hog or steer and know what saws or knives to use then dont even respond and guess and argue petty bs.. And dont try to interject your liberal opinions on basics that have worked for generations... LMAO What the hell does this have to do withn karaoke? Music is life and life is music Charm where are you?
